WoW Forever patch notes

Every client build and server hotfix push this site has read, newest first, measured from the game client's own tables: what left the talent trees, what is new, what moved and what changed, class by class, then the spellbook. Where Blizzard published notes, each claim is checked against the tables.

Running since BlizzCon went live, 12 September 2026.

Hotfix, over build 1.60.1.70685 Current

The server's hotfixes of 30 October, read from the WoW: Forever client's hotfix cache over build 1.60.1.70685, the build Blizzard serves Europe (the Americas and Asia are served 1.60.1.70707). They rework the paladin's trees, reshape the druid's Feral and Restoration trees, retune the mage's Frost and Arcane spells, make Binding Heal a trainer spell and carry most of Blizzard's 26 October racial pass.

  • That points to a way to play WoW: Forever without a subscription that stops short of level 60. The strings do not say where.

Recipe items for Forever's crafted gear

  • 36 recipe items that the crafts already named as their source, but whose own records the game files lacked, so their names, quality, binding and skill were unknown until now. The server now sends them.
  • Blacksmithing, rare and bind on pickup: plans for the Veteran's, Guard's, Protector's, Acolyte's and Crusader's chain sets (shirt at 80 skill, leggings at 95, helm at 125; Guard's has no shirt), and Shining Mithril Helm (215).
  • Leatherworking, rare and not bound, so they can be traded: patterns for the Brawler's, Trapper's, Defender's, Totemic, Stormrider's and Wisdom's sets (armor at 75, pants at 100, helm at 125).
  • Enchanting: Formula: Frozen, Molten and Dormant Heart of the Mountain (rare, bind on pickup, 265). The trinkets and the crafts that make them were already in the game; only the formulas' records were missing.

How this was measured

Blizzard's patch server lists WoW: Forever build 1.60.1.70707 for the Americas, Korea, Taiwan and China and 1.60.1.70685 for Europe, so a European launcher installs 70685. The hotfix cache that client wrote on 30 October holds pushes up to 113531, against 113354 in the cache of 27 October. Measured against what the site showed from 70707's own files, it changes 216 things, and every one is a pushed row over class data that 70685's and 70707's files carry identically: built without its hotfixes, 70685 differs from 70707 in 34 class details, and the hotfixes bring all 34 to what 70707's files say. A 70707 client sent the same pushes would therefore show the same trees and spellbook. The trees keep 466 talents. Paladin: 3 talents added, 2 removed, 3 nodes renamed onto new talents, 28 moved, 8 rank counts changed, 7 prerequisites changed and 44 ranks rewritten; five trainer spells are no longer taught and Voice of Truth is. Druid: Berserk's node carries Primal Bite, Primal Bite's carries Lacerate, Shifting Power's carries Predatory Discipline and Improved Shifting Power's carries Shifting Power, which now needs Predatory Discipline; Gift of the Earthmother's node carries Bloom; Furor and Heart of the Wild trade nodes across Feral and Restoration, Reflection and Subtlety within Restoration. Codes written before carry the marker e and are read by talent name against the layout frozen in build-code-v9; new links carry f. The cache also renames racials and changes their numbers as Blizzard's 26 October notes describe, Touch of the Grave's internal cooldown (15 sec, was 25) and Berserking's duration (15 sec, was 10) among them, two changes neither tooltip shows; reorders the bosses of two instances; and drops one of the Legacy Track's two reputation spells. Reading it needed eleven more table layouts than earlier caches (description variables, shapeshift masks, reagents, races, achievements and criteria among them), now decoded on the layouts listed for this build; without them Revenge's tooltip read as an unresolved token.

Every raw table compared between 1.60.1.70685 and 1.60.1.70707; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against 70707 and against 70685 with and without its hotfixes, through the same resolver, and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow, which places all 216 changes in the hotfixes; the racial spells compared row by row and against Blizzard's 26 October notes; the cache's push range compared with every earlier cache; the stored build codes replayed through the canon tests under the new layout. The same hotfixes were read again over build 1.60.1.70707 the same night, once Europe was moved to it: the trees and the spellbook come out identical, and the one later push (113554) changes only three Locale rows.

30 October 2026

Build 1.60.1.70707

The first build read from WoW: Forever itself, the client the launcher pre-installs for 4 November, rather than the beta. It reworks the mage's trees again: Arcane Focus is gone, Improved Fireball becomes Accelerant, Elemental Precision becomes Precision for all spells, Incineration and Critical Mass trade rank counts and four talents move. Revenge now scales with attack power, Aspect of the Hawk and Trueshot Aura give less, Ice Lance has an 8 sec cooldown and trainers no longer teach Frost Blast.

How this was measured

The beta stayed on 1.60.1.70532 while WoW: Forever, the product the launcher pre-installs for 4 November, took builds 1.60.1.70630, 70634, 70658, 70685 and 70707; the site now reads that product, starting with its newest build. 34 of the 92 tables the site reads differ from 70532's. Its own files carry everything the server's hotfixes had shown on 70532, Righteous Fury at level 10 among them, and measured against what the site showed on 70532 it changes 34 things. The trees keep 465 talents: Arcane Focus's node in the Arcane tree is removed; Improved Fireball and Elemental Precision are renamed Accelerant and Precision on their own nodes, Accelerant naming Arcane Wrath beside Fireball and Frostfire Bolt and Precision covering all spells instead of Frost and Fire ones; Incineration goes from 3 ranks to 5 and Critical Mass from 5 to 3, and the arrow from Critical Mass to Combustion asks for 3 points instead of 5; Improved Channeling moves to the second column of the first Arcane row, Arcane Resilience from the second row to the first, Missile Barrage from the first row to the second, and Improved Fire Blast from the first Fire row to the third. Codes written before carry the marker d and are read by talent name against the layout frozen in build-code-v8; new links carry e. Revenge's six ranks take their damage from a new formula that adds 22.5% of attack power when the caster is in Defensive Stance and 25% otherwise, and Revenge can only be cast in Defensive Stance, so the site's reader now takes a stance condition as met on a spell castable only in that stance; Aspect of the Hawk's five ranks and Trueshot Aura's four lose a quarter to a half of their attack power; Ice Lance gains an 8 sec cooldown; Frost Blast's three ranks lose their place on the Frost skill line. Of Blizzard's 26 October racial pass only Blood Fury's 2 min cooldown is in the files; Endurance's effect and Walk on Air's attributes also change without a change in their text. Beyond class data the build adds 107 items, 9 item sets and 68 spells, renames The Watchers' reward signets as Initiate's and Tracker's Signets, and moves two Season of Discovery glove enchants, Holy Power and Arcane Power, to the client's Glove Enchants heading. The site also stopped comparing Forever's recipes with the Season of Discovery rows the Classic Era client carries, which Classic Era players never had: 15 recipes those rows matched, among them nine enchants and Dense Runecloth Bandage, now read as new in Forever rather than as Classic's. No hotfix cache for 70707 has been read: the launcher has not offered the build yet. Blizzard published no notes for it.

Every raw table compared between 1.60.1.70532 and 1.60.1.70707, and 70634's own tables and the server's hotfixes for it checked against what the site showed; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against 70532 with its hotfixes and 70707 through the same resolver and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow; every other dataset compared with what the site showed; the racial spells compared row by row; the stored build codes replayed through the canon tests under the new layout; and Blizzard's forum thread read for posts after 27 October.

Build 1.60.1.70532

Again no change to the game's own files: every table the site reads is 1.60.1.70450's, byte for byte, and the server's hotfixes rework the mage's Frost tree: Piercing Ice is gone, Frost Channeling and Improved Blizzard move, Elemental Precision drops to three ranks of 2% hit, and Frost Warding, Ice Barrier and Frost Ward are rebuilt around absorbs that scale with spell power.

How this was measured

All 90 tables the site reads are byte-identical to 1.60.1.70450's, as they were for the stress test's release of the same build a day earlier, so the server's hotfixes are the whole difference. The build's own hotfix cache holds every row of the newest cache written on 1.60.1.70450, which differs from the 70450 cache the site read before in 2 talent nodes, a node entry and an effect curve, 136 spell rows (6 of them changed), 218 spell effects, 176 spell attribute rows and 150 more server-supplied items, and adds a few of its own: Righteous Fury is learned at level 10 instead of 16, Victory Rush's damage formula names attack power by another variable with the same result, Healing Stream and Walk on Air change an attribute flag, seven skill-line rows change a flag, and the rest are spells of the Hallow's End zombie event, a few other holiday spells and Anara Chillwind's encounter. Measured against what the site showed on 1.60.1.70450, the build changes 20 things. The trees keep 466 talents: Piercing Ice's node in the mage's Frost tree is removed, Frost Channeling and Improved Blizzard move from columns 2 and 4 to 1 and 2 of the third row, and Elemental Precision drops from five ranks to three at 2, 4 and 6% hit; codes written before carry the marker c and are read by talent name against the layout frozen in build-code-v7, and new links carry d. Frost Warding gives Frost Ward a 10 or 20% chance to negate the warded spell where it reflected Frost spells, and raises the absorbs of Ice Barrier and Frost Ward by 10 or 20%; Ice Barrier absorbs 10% of Frost spell power beyond its base, raises Frost damage by 3% for 1 min and by another 3% while the shield holds; Frost Ward's five ranks absorb 10% of Frost spell power beyond their base. Hunter's Mark rank 4 adds 143 ranged attack power, where it added 71, less than rank 3's 98, and Lava Burst rank 3's bonus on a target with Flame Shock is 20%, where it was 54% and every other rank 20%. Nothing else the site prints changes: racials, professions, the Legacy tree, PvP, reputations and dungeons read as before, and the extra server items are none the pages use. The stress-test realm, on the same build, pushed no talent or spell hotfixes at all, so it shows the build's own trees. Blizzard published no notes for the build.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70450 and 1.60.1.70532 for both of the build's releases, the stress test's and the beta's; the newest 70450 hotfix cache decoded and compared row for row with the one the site read before; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against 70450 with its published hotfixes and 70532 with the carried ones through the same resolver, and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow; every other dataset compared with what the site showed; the stored build codes replayed through the canon tests under the new layout; the build's own hotfix cache decoded and compared row for row with the carried 70450 one; and Blizzard's forum thread read for posts after 15 October.

Build 1.60.1.70450

A build that changes none of the game's own files: every table the site reads is 1.60.1.70425's, byte for byte, and what changed arrives as the server's hotfixes. Champion of the Light doubles to 20, 40 and 60% of Intellect, Frost Blast can trigger Missile Barrage, Amplify Curse's bonus on Curse of Exhaustion reads 20% again, and Holy Fire's first rank deals less.

  • ChangedAmplify Curse Affliction: Increases the effect of your next Curse of Weakness or Bane of Agony by 50%, or your next Curse of Exhaustion by 0%. 20%. Lasts 30 sec.
How this was measured

All 90 tables the site reads are 1.60.1.70425's: 72 of wago's exports are identical, and the 18 that differ come from database files that are byte-identical in both builds (each pair downloaded and hashed), their extra rows sitting in sections that were encrypted until now. Measured against what the site showed on 1.60.1.70425, each build read with its own hotfixes, the build changes 7 things, all of them hotfixes: Champion of the Light's three ranks (its points curve goes from 10, 20 and 30 to 20, 40 and 60), Missile Barrage's two ranks (Frost Blast added beside Arcane Wrath, Fireball, Frostbolt and Frostfire Bolt), Amplify Curse (the Curse of Exhaustion bonus reads 20%, where the build's own files left the effect it quotes without a row and the client printed 0%) and Holy Fire rank 1 (its base value drops from 58 to 54, so 52 to 66 damage instead of 56 to 70). The trees keep 467 talents in the same places with 71 prerequisite arrows, so codes stay on layout c. Arcane Wrath's four ranks are put in one cooldown category with a 6 sec category cooldown beside each rank's own, so one rank's cooldown now holds the others. Other hotfixed rows change nothing the site prints: Curse of Weakness, Curse of Exhaustion and Bane of Agony quote the value applied in their debuff text, Bane of Agony gains a second effect and Amplify Curse a new one while its spell mask narrows; Dark Inspiration's effect row changes its aura and stat values; Touch of the Grave loses four attribute flags; eleven other spells change attribute flags, Elemental Mastery, Blood Craze and Kick's silence among them; Immol'thar's encounter in Dire Maul changes a flag and gains a record aura; and 14 spell rows the build's files do not have are removed. Bountiful Harvest's ranks in the Legacy tree now read that Scarce materials are more likely to be found, rather than that more of them are found. The server supplies 4,864 Classic item rows the build's item table lacks, 77 more than for 70425. The newly readable rows are cosmetics: the Spectral Wolf Pack mount, which up to two party members can join, the Verdant Sea Turtle and Crimson Rooster, the companions Pinky, Blossoming Ancient and Gill'el, the Gilded Blademaster's armor set with its greatsword and banner, the Stillwater Fisher attire, a Rugged Totemic Backpack and an Adventurer's Tent. Blizzard published no notes for the build; the 15 October post was edited on 16 October for wording only. Reading this cache also brought in table layouts the reader had lacked, so the hotfixes' cooldown, spell category, duration, area, map, criteria and quest objective rows are read now, 70425's included; on 70425 they change nothing the site showed.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70425 and 1.60.1.70450, and both builds' database files downloaded and hashed for the 18 exports that differ; the build's own hotfix cache decoded, two copies of it compared row for row, and each row compared with the build's own files and with 70425's hotfixes; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against 70425 and 70450 through the same resolver, each with its own hotfixes, and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow; every other dataset compared with what the site showed; and Blizzard's forum thread read for posts after 15 October.

Build 1.60.1.70425

The first build since 1.60.1.70291 to change the game's own files, and a large one: talents move in the mage, priest, shaman and warlock trees, so build links get a new layout; nine races get reworked racials; Frost Blast, Arcane Wrath and Revoke arrive; and 280 measured changes in all, 22 of them from the server's hotfixes.

Blizzard's notes against the tables: ✓ 102 agree (1 through the hotfixes), ✕ 4 disagree, ? 45 not in the tables

WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated October 15 (15 October 2026)

  • Rendering fixes: fog that was too bright at low shadow settings, arrows that now show on a drawn bow, and an Ice Block that was too transparent: not in the tables. Rendering and art; no table row carries any of them.
  • Kirin Tor reputation is closed to Horde players: the tables agree. Kirin Tor's reputation flags change from 2 to 6, and the reputation ceiling of its Horde start row goes from 0 to -42,000 (at war). The site's reputation builder now drops that start row and hides the faction for the five Horde races.
  • Out-of-combat health regeneration works for creatures again: not in the tables. Server behaviour; no table row carries it.
  • Horde characters no longer hold the Night Watchman's Torch: not in the tables. The torch's spell (1309410) has one attribute word changed in SpellMisc, from 536,871,168 to 805,306,624, and the table does not say whether that is this fix.
  • Drink tooltips show the right total Mana regeneration: the tables agree. The description of four Drink spells (430, 431, 432 and 1133) and of Skum's Bucket changes from a per-tick value to a formula that totals the drink's regeneration.
  • A new tutorial experience for new players: not in the tables. No table row. The client's file list adds seven Lua and XML files under the tutorial interface addons and two new-player interstitial texture atlases.
  • Lighting Bloom Intensity becomes a slider in the Advanced graphics options: not in the tables. Settings interface; no table carries it.
  • A new Auto Attack/Auto Shot setting lets Hunters switch between the two automatically, with gamepad support: not in the tables. One flag bit is set on the Hunter row of ChrClasses (4,227,332 to 21,004,548), and the table does not say what it means.
  • Tauren Endurance gives 2% extra critical damage and healing instead of 1% hit chance: the tables agree. Spell 20550's effects are rebuilt: two of them change aura (54 to 163 and 55 to 50) and one base value goes from 1 to 2. The site's racial text goes from "+5% health, +1% hit" to "+5% health, +2% critical strike bonus to damage and healing".
  • Tauren Plainsrunning also gives 3% mounted movement speed, stacking with other mounted speed increases: the tables agree. Spell 1259918 gains a new effect (aura 130, value 3). Whether it stacks is not something the row states.
  • Plainsrunning needs a minimum distance moved each second, so stutter-stepping no longer keeps it: not in the tables. Movement behaviour; no row carries a distance threshold.
  • Tauren Cultivation cooldown is 15 minutes (was 60) and War Stomp cooldown is 90 seconds (was 2 minutes): the tables agree. Cultivation (spell 1312643) goes from 60 to 15 minutes, and War Stomp (spell 20549) from 2 minutes to 90 seconds.
  • Dwarf Mace Specialization is replaced by Earth Fury, 2% extra critical damage and healing: the tables agree. Spell 1259719 is renamed Earth Fury with a new icon. One effect changes aura (290 to 163) and its base value goes from 1 to 2, and a second effect is added. The racial read "+1% crit with a mace" before.
  • Dwarf Find Treasure also finds extra items in most chests: not in the tables. Chest loot is server-side, and the Find Treasure spell has no changed row.
  • Skyborne Wind Blessed haste is 3% (was 1%): the tables agree. Both effects of spell 1259710 go from 1 to 3.
  • Skysight can be cast while moving: the tables agree. In SpellInterrupts, a table outside the site's set, spell 1259686's interrupt flags go from 15 to 14, one bit cleared. The racial read as a cast interrupted by movement before.
  • Read Leyline can be cast while moving and lasts at least 30 seconds: the tables agree. In SpellInterrupts, spell 1259705's interrupt flags go from 15 to 14, the same bit as Skysight. The minimum duration (the Energized effect, spell 1270842) goes from 15 to 30 seconds; the table's old value is 15 seconds, not the 20 the notes give.
  • Skyborne Walk on Air cooldown is 90 seconds (was 2 minutes): the tables agree. Spell 1259416 goes from a 2 minute cooldown to 90 seconds.
  • More Elemental Convergence and Leyline spawn points, more Bloodtooth Guards in Raene's Cleansing, and faster, more even respawns in the Wetlands (Dragonmaw Orcs, Gnolls and Incendicite Ore): not in the tables. Spawns and respawn rates are server-side; no table carries them.
  • Human Sword Specialization is replaced by Ruthless, 2% critical strike chance: the tables agree. Spell 20597 is renamed Ruthless with a new icon, and the weapon condition is gone from its text. The bonus stays 2%.
  • Orc Axe Specialization is replaced by Savage, 1% critical strike chance: the tables agree. Spell 20574 is renamed Savage and the weapon condition is gone from its text. The bonus stays 1%.
  • Orc Blood Fury cooldown is 3 minutes (was 2): the tables agree. Spell 20572 goes from a 2 minute cooldown to 3 minutes.
  • Orc Shatter Curse dispels Curses and Banes instead of granting immunity, and cuts magic damage taken by 5% instead of 15%: the tables agree. Spell 1299026's damage-taken value goes from -15 to -5, and its immunity effect is rebuilt (aura 41 to 0, effect type 6 to 38).
  • Undead Touch of the Grave procs 30% of the time for casters and 20% for Paladins, Rogues and Warriors, with a 25 second internal cooldown, and its visuals are improved: the tables agree. The client names it Touch of the Grave; the notes call it Touch of the Dead. Its two spells (1260189 and 1260201) go from a 5% and a 10% proc chance to 20% and 30%, and their internal cooldown from 1 to 25 seconds. The visuals are not a table fact.
  • Undead lose Will of the Forsaken while under the effect of Scatter Shot: not in the tables. Spell 7744 has four attribute words changed in SpellMisc, and the table does not say what they allow.
  • Touch of the Dead no longer scales with Shadow bonuses or loses strength when a lower-rank spell is used, because it is a racial and not a class spell: not in the tables. The proc spell (1260198) has six attribute words changed in SpellMisc (words 3, 4, 6, 9, 10 and 13), and the table does not say what they do.
  • Gnome Eureka! becomes an 8 second buff with no charges, with the same effect on damage and costs, and now also benefits Power Word: Shield: the tables agree. Five spells (1259812, 1259813, 1259817, 1259821 and 1259823) go from 15 to 8 seconds, lose their aura option rows and lose "next 3" from their text, and the server's hotfixes for the build add "for 8 sec" to all five. The Power Word: Shield part is not in the rows.
  • Eureka! cannot be used correctly while in stealth or invisibility (a known issue): not in the tables. Behaviour; no row carries it.
  • Night Elf Quickness now stacks with other movement speed increases: the tables agree. Spell 20582 has an effect change aura from 31 to 129, which the racials text reads as a speed bonus that is no longer exclusive.
  • Visual changes: Night Elves no longer show shields in Wisp Form, the Cone of Cold effect is repositioned, Chain Heal gets a little green, and Morbent's Bane no longer plays effects on bystanders: not in the tables. Visual effects, which no table carries.
  • Troll Regeneration gives 20% health regeneration bonuses (was 10%): the tables agree. Both effects of spell 20555 go from 10 to 20.
  • Wands and the Hunter's Auto Shot need half a second of standing still before firing, as in early WoW: not in the tables. A client rule. Shoot (spell 5019) has one attribute bit cleared in SpellMisc, and the table does not say what it governs.
  • A high rank of Rejuvenation or Renew no longer stops another druid or priest from applying their own to the same target: the tables agree. All 11 Rejuvenation ranks and all 10 Renew ranks lose the same attribute bit in SpellMisc. Regrowth and Power Word: Shield lose it too, though the notes name neither.
  • Faerie Fire in Cat Form can no longer trigger Omen of Clarity: not in the tables. No changed row for Omen of Clarity.
  • Faerie Fire generates threat in Bear Form and Dire Bear Form instead of only starting combat at 0 threat: the tables agree. Faerie Fire ranks 770, 778, 9749 and 9907 each gain a threat effect (effect type 63).
  • Several Faerie Fire debuffs can no longer be active on one target: the tables agree. Seven Faerie Fire spells (6950, 13424, 13752, 16498, 20656, 21670 and 1289452) change their aura effect from 22 to 674.
  • Shred rank 1 is learned at level 20 (was 22): the tables agree. Spell 5221 goes from level 22 to level 20, and the spellbook shows rank 1 at level 20.
  • Heart of the Wild, Feral Swiftness, Thick Hide and Leader of the Pack now apply correctly when a character enters the world: not in the tables. Not in the build's own files, where none of the four changed. The server's hotfixes for this build push SpellMisc rows for exactly these spells (Thick Hide 327086, Feral Swiftness 327542 and 332602, Heart of the Wild 327543, Leader of the Pack 327861). Four are identical to the build's own rows; the fifth, for Feral Swiftness's speed aura (spell 24867), gains one attribute bit, and that aura's speed value goes from 15 to 0 with its text now quoting the value applied. Neither says what the fix does.
  • Several casts of Insect Swarm no longer keep lowering the target's hit chance: the tables agree. Insect Swarm spells 5570 and 24974 to 24977 each lose one attribute bit in SpellMisc.
  • Moonkin Aura gives only spell critical strike chance and Leader of the Pack only melee and ranged critical strike chance, both raid wide: the tables agree. Moonkin Aura (spell 24907) changes aura 290 to 57 and Leader of the Pack (spell 24932) aura 290 to 52, and both change their area effect from 35 to 65. The talent texts now say "party or raid".
  • Shred's flat damage tooltip now scales with Savage Fury, which the developers call a visual fix that leaves the damage unchanged: the tables disagree. The tooltip does change: its flat damage now reads the effect (22, 32, 44, 64 and 80 on ranks 1 to 5) instead of the typed 54, 72, 99, 144 and 180, which were exactly 2.25 times the effects, so the shown numbers fall by 56%. Rank 1's effect itself also moves, from 24 to 22, so the damage is not wholly unchanged.
  • Furor lets a druid keep the Energy from their last Cat Form after going through Bear or Dire Bear Form: the tables agree. Furor's text changes, and Bear Form (5487) and Dire Bear Form (9634) each gain an energy effect (aura 110, value -100).
  • Hunter pets benefit from Expertise and inherit the higher of the owner's melee or ranged critical strike chance: not in the tables. No row for either.
  • Hunter Fire traps scale with Attack Power, and a Hunter can have one Fire trap and one Ice trap active at once: not in the tables. Immolation Trap and Explosive Trap rows have one effect field change from 0 to 3, but no coefficient moved; the one-of-each limit has no row.
  • Pet abilities are retuned: Crocolisk Dismember heals 25% less (was 50%) for 6 seconds (was 10) on a 15 second cooldown (was 6), Bat Sonic Blast slows casting by 30% (was 60%) for 20 seconds (was 30) on a 60 second cooldown (was 30), and Bird of Prey Mine! lasts 3 seconds (was 4) on a 90 second cooldown (was 60): the tables agree. Five spells each. Dismember: the healing reduction goes from -50 to -25, the duration from 10 to 6 seconds and the cooldown from 6 to 15 seconds. Sonic Blast: the cast speed reduction goes from -60 to -30, the duration from 30 to 20 seconds and the cooldown from 30 to 60 seconds. Mine!: the duration goes from 4 to 3 seconds and the cooldown from 60 to 90 seconds.
  • Summon Hawk spawns at and sticks to its target, and Improved Mend Pet no longer raises the Mana cost of Mend Pet: not in the tables. Spawn behaviour, and no changed row for Improved Mend Pet.
  • Trueshot Aura now reaches the whole raid: the tables agree. Five Trueshot Aura spells (19506, 20905, 20906, 1299346 and 1299348) change their area effect from 35 to 65, and the text now says "party or raid".
  • Sniper Shot now benefits from the Marksmanship talents it was missing: not in the tables. Aimed Shot and Sniper Shot ranks each gain one attribute bit in SpellMisc, but no talent's spell mask moved, and the table does not say what the bit does.
  • Strider Kick can be used while disarmed or with no main-hand weapon: the tables agree. Strider Kick (spell 1317257) loses one attribute flag in SpellMisc (word 3 goes from 1,024 to 0).
  • Resourcefulness reduces Strider Kick's Mana cost and procs on melee and ranged ability crits only, not on traps: the tables agree. Spell 440529 gains a class mask (0 to 2,097,152) and its proc mask changes; the talent text now reads a 50/100% chance on ability critical strikes, where it read 20/40%.
  • Predator's Edge's tooltip says it only raises the critical strike damage of abilities: the tables agree. The text of spell 1310627 now reads "melee ability critical strike damage".
  • New mage spell Frost Blast, learned at level 24: 1.5 second cast, 40% slow, affected by every talent that affects Frostbolt: the tables agree. Three ranks at levels 24, 36 and 48 (spells 1326053 to 1326055) cost 40, 65 and 90 Mana against Frostbolt rank 1's 25. Each has a 1.5 second cast and a 40% slow for 9 seconds, and rank 1 deals 28 to 31 Frost damage. The texts of Improved Frostbolt and Arctic Reach now name Frost Blast.
  • Presence of Mind is consumed by casts again, Frost Channeling lowers threat correctly, and three Clearcasting fixes (no roll per target struck, no trigger from Dampen Magic and Amplify Magic, no trigger from out-of-combat casts): not in the tables. No changed row for any of them.
  • Missile Barrage can no longer cut the cost and duration of a second Arcane Missiles cast: not in the tables. Missile Barrage's proc chance goes from 50% to 100% and a new spell (1326083) appears, but the fix itself is not a table fact.
  • Missile Barrage moves to the first row and becomes a 2-point talent: the tables agree. Node 105802 goes from the fourth row to the first and from 1 to 2 ranks.
  • Arcane Missiles hits can also trigger Missile Barrage: the tables disagree. The build's own files add a 5/10% chance per Arcane Missiles hit to the talent's text, but the server's hotfixes for the build take it out again: the text the client shows names Arcane Blast (20/40%) and Arcane Wrath, Fireball, Frostbolt and Frostfire Bolt (10/20%) only.
  • Arcane Blast is redesigned: 1.5 second cast, 15% of Intellect as spell damage for 15 seconds, damage and coefficients 40% lower, Mana cost unchanged: the tables agree. The cast time goes from 2.5 to 1.5 seconds and the effect's duration from 8 to 15 seconds. Rank 5 deals 218 to 254 instead of 364 to 424, and its coefficient goes from 0.714 to 0.429, both 40% lower. The Mana cost rows are unchanged.
  • New Arcane talent Arcane Wrath: Fireball-like damage, 3.5 second cast, extra damage from 5% of maximum Mana as spell power, 6 second cooldown: the tables agree. Node 113627 is new, in the fourth row, with Arcane Blast as its prerequisite. Its spells (1326079 to 1326082) have a 3.5 second cast and a 6 second cooldown, rank 1 deals 121 to 147 and rank 4 406 to 496, and the text reads 5% of maximum Mana. Ranks 2 to 4 cost 220, 305 and 395 Mana at levels 36, 48 and 60.
  • A Pyroblast cast with Presence of Mind active no longer uses up Heating Up, and every Fire Blast adds a charge, so a Fire Blast crit adds two: the tables agree. Heating Up's text (spell 400624) now says Fire Blast adds a stack on every hit, and the proc type of spell 400625 changes.
  • Wake of Fire reverts to Improved Fire Blast, drops its kill bonus and adds 8/15 yards of Fire Blast range: the tables agree. Node 105797 is renamed Improved Fire Blast in the same cell with the same 2 ranks, and the text of spell 11078 reads 8/15 yards.
  • Critical Mass takes up to 5 points for 10% total critical strike chance: the tables agree. Node 105784 goes from 3 to 5 ranks and rank 5 reads 10%; Combustion now needs 5 points in it, where it needed 3.
  • Fire Power is redesigned as a 3-point talent: 1/2/3% more Fire damage per Fire effect on the target, up to 12%, with mixed-school spells excluded: the tables agree. Node 105782 goes from 5 to 3 ranks, and rank 1 now reads "1% per Fire effect, up to 4%". Which effects count (Ignite, Improved Scorch, Fireball, Pyroblast and Impact) and the mixed-school exclusion are not stated in the rows.
  • Frostbite and Fingers of Frost can now trigger from Ice Armor and Frost Armor: the tables agree. The seven Frost Armor and Ice Armor spells change their aura effect from 22 to 674, and Frostbite (spell 11071) changes aura from 109 to 42 and gains an aura option row.
  • Ice Lance does 200% more damage to Frozen targets (was 300%): the tables agree. Ice Lance spells 400640, 1240044 to 1240047 and 1312002 go from 300 to 200.
  • Cone of Cold slows its first four targets by another 10%, for 3 seconds longer: the tables agree. Spell 10161 gains three effects (4 targets, -10 and 3 seconds), and ranks 1 to 4 quote them in their text.
  • Winter's Chill is redesigned: it no longer raises critical strike chance and instead makes Cone of Cold deal 40% more damage per stack: the tables disagree. The build's own files say so: spell 12579 changes aura from 308 to 271 and its value from 2 to 40, and the talent text (spell 11180) reads 40% more Cone of Cold damage per stack, up to 5 stacks, with no critical strike chance. The server's hotfixes for the build replace that with the second bullet's version, so the client shows 5% per stack; the critical strike chance stays gone.
  • A second Winter's Chill bullet instead says Frostbolt, Frost Blast and Fingers of Frost Ice Lance have a 20/40/60/80/100% chance to apply it, and each stack adds 5% Cone of Cold damage plus 7% of spell damage, up to 5 stacks: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. Not in the build's own files, which match the first bullet. The server's hotfixes for the build bring exactly this: the talent text names Frostbolt, Frost Blast and Fingers of Frost empowered Ice Lance at 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100%, spell 12579's value drops from 40 to 5 and it gains a second effect, and the text reads 5% more damage taken from the next Cone of Cold plus 7% of spell damage per stack, up to 5 stacks.
  • Seal of Fury is no longer overwritten by Power Word: Shield, Light's Vigil goes to the right target when cast through a focus macro, and Infusion of Light no longer gives Holy Shock 50% more damage against enemies: not in the tables. No changed row for any of them.
  • Blessing of Salvation and Greater Blessing of Salvation become Salvation and Mass Salvation, applied like blessings but not exclusive with them: the tables agree. Spells 1038 (level 26) and 25895 (level 60) are renamed, their text drops the sentence that a Paladin can keep only one blessing, and a new spell (1912) is added.
  • Paladins learn Revoke when they learn Salvation: the tables agree. Spell 1325499, Revoke, is new: level 26, the same as Salvation, with a skill line row (59653), 40 yards and no cost. It removes a Salvation or Mass Salvation from a party or raid member.
  • Judgement of Righteousness and Judgement of Fury use the correct spell power coefficient for an instant cast spell: the tables agree. Their coefficients of 0.5 (Righteousness) and 0.45 (Fury) become 0.429 on every rank.
  • Seal of Righteousness gains less from Spell Damage, having got almost twice what was intended: the tables agree. The nine Seal of Righteousness proc spells (25713 and 25735 to 25742) go from a coefficient of 0.1 to 0, and a new set of description variables (1023) rewrites the tooltip.
  • Consecration's spell power coefficient per tick is 0.042 (was 0.095): the tables agree. Spells 1280345 to 1280349 and 1280353 go from 0.095 to 0.042.
  • Righteous Fury's Holy damage threat is 90% (was 60%): the tables agree. Spell 25780's value goes from 60 to 90.
  • Seal of Fury rank 3 is trained at level 26 (was 25): the tables agree. Spell 20163 goes from level 25 to level 26.
  • Shield Specialization restores 4% Mana per block (was 6%), with the same 3 second internal cooldown: the tables agree. Spell 1310925's value goes from 6 to 4, and the talent text reads 4%.
  • Reckoning stores up to 4 charges and spends them as one extra attack each on the next swing: the tables agree. The talent text (node 105627) reads that it stores up to 4 extra attacks, a new spell (1326084) grants extra attacks on the next swing, and spell 20177 has an effect changed.
  • Champion of the Light adds 10/20/30% of Intellect as spell damage (was 20/40/60%): the tables agree. The text of talent 110882 now reads 10/20/30% of Intellect.
  • Sanctified Judgement's Mana restore no longer generates threat: not in the tables. Spell 1311077 gains one attribute bit in SpellMisc (word 1), and the table does not say what it does.
  • Holy Fire rank 5's periodic damage is no longer higher than rank 6's: the tables agree. Spell 15265's effect goes from 13 to 9, taking rank 5's damage over time from 65 to 45, between rank 4's 35 and rank 6's 50.
  • Power Word: Shield tells the player when a stronger shield stops theirs replacing it, and no longer shows SHIELDED twice in scrolling combat text: not in the tables. Every Power Word: Shield rank loses one attribute bit and gains another (0x200000 in word 6) in SpellMisc, but the messages are client behaviour and the table does not say what the bits do.
  • Devouring Plague's cooldown is 24 seconds (was 1 minute) and Vampiric Embrace's is 30 seconds (was 1 minute): the tables agree. Six Devouring Plague ranks go from 60 to 24 seconds, and Vampiric Embrace (spell 15286) from 60 to 30 seconds.
  • Shadow Word: Death's cooldown is 18 seconds (was 12): the tables agree. Four ranks go from 15 to 18 seconds. The table's old value is 15 seconds, not the 12 the notes give.
  • Casting Mind Vision no longer makes the target stand up and interrupt drinks: not in the tables. Mind Vision (spells 2096 and 10909) has one attribute word changed in SpellMisc, and the table does not say what it governs.
  • Inner Focus is spent on one spell even when another is queued into Penance's channel, Shadow Word: Death gets Shadowform's critical damage bonus, and a bounced Devouring Plague from Devouring Contagion no longer costs Mana, animates or resets the caster's cooldown: not in the tables. No changed row for any of them.

  • Mental Strength moves from the fourth row to the second and gives 2/4/6/8/10% Intellect: the tables agree. Node 105837 goes from the fourth row to the second, and the text reads 2% a rank where it read 3%.
  • Improved Power Word: Shield moves from the second row to the third: the tables agree. Node 105846 goes from the second row to the third, in the same column.
  • Twin Disciplines now benefits Shadow Word: Death, Mind Flay, Starshards and Penance: the tables agree. The effect class masks of spell 1225132 change.

  • Improved Mind Blast moves from the third row to the second: the tables agree. It goes from the third row to the second, in the same column and with 5 ranks both times. It now sits on the node Shadow Affinity had (105831), and its old node (105827) is gone.
  • New fourth-row Shadow talent Dark Inspiration gives you and your party 3/6/9/12/15% Spirit for 10 seconds: the tables agree. Node 105823, which was Improved Fade, is now Dark Inspiration with 5 ranks (new spells 1326159 and 1326168), and its text reads 3 to 15% Spirit for 10 seconds.
  • Improved Mind Flay makes each damage instance of Mind Flay deal 10/20% more than the one before: the tables agree. The text of spell 1225139 changes to say so, and three of its effects are removed.
  • Devouring Contagion spreads to 2 targets: the tables agree. The text now reads "2 nearby enemies", and a new effect is added.
  • Shadow Weaving's tooltip says the target takes more damage from you: the tables agree. The text of spell 15257 now says so.
  • Rogue poisons no longer trigger on targets that attack the Rogue, Rogues can no longer swap specializations to keep their Energy full, and Cold Blood is consumed when Mutilate crits: not in the tables. No changed row for the poisons or for Cold Blood, and the Energy trick is behaviour. Rapid Poison and Foul Disease already appear among the server's earlier hotfixes.
  • Sap can no longer trigger weapon procs: the tables agree. Sap's three ranks (spells 2070, 6770 and 11297) gain two attribute bits in SpellMisc (0x10000 and 0x20000 in word 3).
  • Totemic Recall costs 22 silver at the trainer instead of 70: not in the tables. Trainer prices are server-side; no table carries them.
  • Grounding Totem is destroyed after redirecting a spell, Windfury and Flametongue Totems stay mutually exclusive, Elemental Focus's Clearcasting cannot be spent on the Fire Nova that triggers it, Lightning Overload no longer consumes Clearcasting, and Stormstrike's debuff is no longer consumed by a spell that misses or by other players' casts: not in the tables. Behaviour; no row says any of it.
  • Windfury Weapon's attacks show as white hits in scrolling combat text: not in the tables. Spell 439440 gains one attribute bit in SpellMisc (0x2000000 in word 10), and the table does not say what it does.
  • Grace of Air Totem is no longer exclusive with Windfury Totem and Flametongue Totem: the tables agree. Grace of Air ranks 8836, 10626 and 25360 each lose one attribute flag in SpellMisc (word 11 goes from 1,024 to 0).
  • Grace of Air, Strength of Earth, Windfury and Flametongue Totems are raid wide: the tables agree. Windfury, Flametongue and Grace of Air change their area effect from 35 to 65, and the text of all four now says "party or raid".
  • Chain Lightning costs about 35% less Mana on all four ranks: the tables agree. The costs go from 225, 305, 390 and 485 to 145, 200, 250 and 315.
  • Fire Nova's spell power coefficient is 0.143 (was 0.214), and its base damage and Mana cost are sharply lower: the tables agree. Five effect spells go from 0.214 to 0.143. Rank 1 damage goes from 53 to 62 down to 32 to 38 and rank 5 from 412 to 460 down to 232 to 259, and the Mana costs go from 95, 170, 280, 395 and 520 to 65, 120, 210, 290 and 375.
  • Flametongue Totem and Windfury Totem now affect only players: not in the tables. Both gain one attribute bit in SpellMisc (0x100 in word 3), and the table does not say what it does.
  • Elemental Mastery returns as a 31-point talent: Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst cast 0.5 seconds faster and Chain Lightning loses its cooldown for 15 seconds, on a 3 minute cooldown, with Lava Burst as its prerequisite: the tables agree. Node 104758 is Elemental Mastery (spell 16166) in the seventh row, with a 15 second duration, a 3 minute cooldown and text as described. A new arrow runs from Lava Burst to it.
  • Lava Burst moves from the seventh row to the fifth as a 21-point talent, gains a rank 4 and loses its prerequisite: the tables agree. Lava Burst is on node 104760 in the fifth row with 1 rank. Its ranks sit at levels 30, 40, 50 and 60, rank 4 being the new spell 1326047 (192 to 248 damage, 265 Mana), and no arrow leads into it.
  • Elemental Fury now needs Lightning Overload, and Lightning Overload needs Elemental Alacrity: the tables agree. Two arrows are added, Lightning Overload to Elemental Fury and Elemental Alacrity to Lightning Overload, each asking for 3 points.
  • Elemental Alacrity moves from the third row to the second, and Elemental Warding from the second row to the third: the tables agree. Alacrity goes from the third row to the second and Warding from the second row to the third.
  • The Call of Thunder talent is taken out: the tables agree. No talent of that name remains; its node is now Earthbound.

  • Elemental Reach also shortens Totemic Projection's cooldown by 10/20 seconds, and Call of Flame also lengthens Flame Shock by 3/6/9 seconds: the tables agree. Both talent texts change: Elemental Reach (spell 28999) gains an effect of -20 seconds and Call of Flame (spell 16038) an effect of 9 seconds.
  • Many Elemental talents change column to make room for the new ones and their connections: the tables agree. Eight of the sixteen Elemental Combat nodes change cell, so the tree's build-code positions shift from the third digit on.

  • Stormstrike costs 8% of base Mana (was a flat 125): the tables agree. Spell 17364's flat cost goes from 125 Mana to 0 and its percentage cost from 0 to 8%.
  • Mana Tide Totem gains a rank at level 38, so ranks come at 25, 38, 48 and 58 (were 25, 48 and 58): the tables agree. Spells 17354, 17359 and 1325256 now sit at levels 38, 48 and 58 and restore 133, 197 and 290 Mana per pulse (the old two ranks restored 197 and 290), and the talent's own spell (16190) goes from level 25 to level 1.
  • Restorative Totems now boosts all of Healing Stream Totem, not just its base value: not in the tables. Spell 16187 has one effect value change from 8 to 22, and five Healing Stream ranks have an attribute word changed; the table does not say what either means.
  • Tidal Focus and Totemic Focus swap places: the tables agree. Tidal Focus goes from the second row to the first and Totemic Focus from the first row to the second, both in the same column.
  • Water Shield can trigger from any critical spell the Shaman casts, not only critical heals: the tables agree. The text now reads that it triggers when any of the caster's spells gets a critical result, and its proc mask goes from 156,328 to 221,864.
  • Summon Incubus can no longer be cast without a Soul Shard through the Reagent Economy Legacy perk: not in the tables. Summon Incubus (spell 713) has one attribute bit cleared in SpellMisc (word 5, from 2 to 0), and the table does not say what it governs.
  • Several Curse of Recklessness debuffs can no longer be active on one target (the notes call it "Cure of Recklessness"): the tables agree. The client names it Curse of Recklessness. Spells 16231 and 1225841 change their aura effect from 22 to 674, and four ranks lose an effect.
  • Malediction is replaced by Grim Reach, which adds 10/20% range to Affliction spells: the tables agree. Node 105923 is renamed Grim Reach in the same cell and goes from 5 ranks to 2, and its text gives the range increase.

  • Destructive Reach raises the range of Destruction spells by 10/20%: the tables agree. The text of node 105881 changes and its spell class mask narrows to Destruction spells.
  • Battle Shout now reaches the whole raid: the tables agree. Seven ranks change their implicit target from 20 to 56, and the text now says "party or raid".

Interface code. The client's file list adds gamepad dialog templates and changes gamepad Lua; no table carries the rest.
  • Mystic Mushroom and the Insight enchant now add Spirit as they should: not in the tables. No changed row for Mystic Mushroom. The only changed Insight row is an unrelated spell (1299796) with one effect value changed, and the table does not say what it means.
  • Using a scroll now starts the global cooldown: the tables agree. Scroll of Spirit III (item 4424) moves its item effect from category 0 to category 133 with a 1 second category cooldown. It is the only scroll whose item effect changed.
  • Many items made by professions sell to vendors for less: the tables agree. Vendor sell prices are lower on 94 item rows and higher on 28, and buy prices are lower on 100; the median changed sell price is 0.67 times its old value. How many of the 129 changed rows are crafted items was not measured.
  • Draught of Predatory Senses becomes a Potion on the Combat Potion cooldown, with a shorter duration: the tables agree. The item, its recipe and three spells are renamed Potion of Predatory Senses. Its item effect goes from spell category 2593 with a 3 second cooldown to category 4 with a 120 second cooldown, and its duration from 30 minutes to 90 seconds.

  • The Master Chef and Luremaster Legacy perks are drawn one place to the left: the tables agree. Legacy nodes 110289 and 110293 move from a horizontal position of 3,900 to 3,300, which puts them one column to the left in the site's grid, from the third column to the second.
  • More Priest spells now benefit from The Quick and the Dead: the tables agree. Spell 1262312's two class masks change, from 285,482,569 and 1,107,296,261 to 424,435,563 and 1,652,621,349.
  • Several quest items that were wrongly multi-drop no longer are: the tables agree. 44 quest items have the multi-drop flag cleared, and 3 gain it.
  • Horde players are unwelcome in Dalaran and attacked on sight, the dungeon is unaffected, and the Dalaran Sewer Key questline no longer opens the city: the tables agree. The build adds five spells that carry names only (Banished, Being Watched, two named Call Guard, and Dismissal), clears one flag bit (0x800) on the Dalaran area, and changes three faction templates (Stormwind, Kirin Tor - Broken and Earthen Ring). Being attacked on sight and the quest access are server-side.
  • Quest fixes: Darkshore furbolg camps credit How Big a Threat?, For Love Eternal can always be turned in to Cerellian Whiteclaw, the Novice Warriors no longer flag you for PvP in Sparring Match, The Attack! in Stormwind is no longer an escort and can be shared, Lord Melenas no longer evades in Twisted Hatred, and Halaan's Gift works for The Anchors of Zephras: not in the tables. • Battleground Marks of Honor now stack 30 high instead of 20: the tables agree. The Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley (items 20558, 20559 and 20560) and Darkspear Islands (item 274895) Marks of Honor go from a stack of 20 to 30.
  • Unit frames and the minimap header are redesigned, the in-game tutorials are updated, and Scrolling Combat Text gets detailed options: not in the tables. Interface art and code. The build adds 64 atlas elements and 201 atlas members for unit-frame masks and minimap buttons, and 19 minimap and unit-frame Lua files in the client's file list, which fit the change; no table states it.
  • Spells with several ranks count as one entry in the Cooldown Manager: not in the tables. The server's hotfixes for this build carry 28 CooldownSetSpell rows and 3 CooldownSetLinkedSpell rows, in tables the site does not read.

Interface and client behaviour (ten bullets); no table carries them.
How this was measured

49 of the 90 tables changed between 1.60.1.70374 and 1.60.1.70425, every one a new database file by wago's hash index rather than rows that merely became readable; 70374 itself, like 70334 and 70338 before it, had changed no game data the site reads beside an icon list. Measured against what the site showed on 1.60.1.70338, the build's own files change 258 things. The trees keep 467 talents: Arcane Wrath is added to the mage's Arcane tree and a priest node is removed, 12 nodes move, 6 change rank count, 12 change name and the prerequisite arrows go from 70 to 71. Because codes are positional, every link written before this build carries the marker a and is read by talent name against the layout frozen in build-code-v5; links written on the build's own files carry b, read against build-code-v6, and new links carry c. Wake of Fire, Improved Fire Nova and Malediction are renamed on their own nodes (Improved Fire Blast, Trial by Fire, Grim Reach, the last cut from five ranks to two), and Shadow Affinity, Improved Fade and Call of Thunder leave the trees, their pages now leading to the class. 48 talents have new text, among them Champion of the Light at 10/20/30% of Intellect, Reckoning storing up to four attacks, Divine Aegis capped at 1,200 and Ice Lance at +200% against frozen targets. The spellbook grows from 434 to 436 abilities: Frost Blast (levels 24, 36 and 48), Arcane Wrath ranks 2 to 4, Revoke, Lava Burst rank 4 and Mana Tide Totem rank 4; Blessing of Salvation and Greater Blessing of Salvation are renamed Salvation and Mass Salvation; Fire Nova loses 40 to 50% of its damage and about a third of its cost, Chain Lightning costs about 35% less, Arcane Blast is a 1.5 sec cast that lends 15% of Intellect as spell damage and deals about 40% less, Devouring Plague's cooldown drops to 24 sec, Shadow Word: Death's rises to 18 sec, and Multi-Shot becomes instant. Racials change for nine races in 16 spells, three weapon specialisations among them turned into named critical strike bonuses. Beyond class data, 318 item rows change (129 vendor prices, 66 item levels, 21 qualities, Marks of Honor stacking to 30) and 20 are removed, the 11 Tinkerbox items among them; Hyjal Crater's map row turns from arena to open world and gains a named area while its Hyjal Crater queue row is removed and the Mak'gora Arena row stays, its terrain now placing 58 buildings where it placed 46; Dalaran carries the spells and faction rows of a Horde ban and Kirin Tor is closed to Horde reputation; two Skycuter maps are added; and Resurrection Sickness lasts 1 min instead of 10, which Blizzard's notes do not mention. The site repaired four tooltips while reading this build: Thorns quotes its damage as the value applied, a form the site's reader had not handled, Amplify Curse still quotes a Curse of Exhaustion bonus whose effect row this build deleted (the client prints it as 0%), Seal of Righteousness moved its formula into shared variables and takes its base damage from Judgement of Righteousness, and Cone of Cold's lower ranks now quote rank 5, which would otherwise have dropped it from the spellbook. It also draws two prerequisite arrows the client has carried in every build since 1.60.1.69893 and the site had never shown, because each prerequisite sits beside its talent in the same row rather than above it, which the site's reader took for the reverse half of a two-way pair: Improved Mind Flay needs Mind Flay, and Divine Precision needs Holy Shock; points placed in either without its prerequisite no longer stand. The server's hotfixes for the build add 22 measured changes, for 280 in all: Permafrost and Frostbite swap columns in the mage's Frost tree, which is why new links carry c; seven talents that guarded a cast against interruption or pushback (Improved Channeling, Twilight Focus, Healing Focus, Eye of the Storm, Nature's Focus, Fel Concentration and Intensity) now give a chance to not lose casting time when you take damage; Winter's Chill takes the second form Blizzard's notes gave it, 5% more damage from the next Cone of Cold and 7% of spell damage per stack, applied by Frostbolt, Frost Blast and Fingers of Frost empowered Ice Lance; Missile Barrage's text no longer names Arcane Missiles hits; Eureka!'s texts add that it lasts 8 sec; and Frost Blast's spell damage coefficient drops from 0.343 to 0.271 and its icon changes, which the notes do not mention. The same hotfixes supply 4,787 Classic item rows the build's item table lacks, 50 more than 70338's did.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70374 and 1.60.1.70425 and checked against wago's per-file hash index; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against 70338 and 70425 through the same resolver and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow; the racial spells re-measured row by row; the changed resolver and spellbook rules run on 70338 as a control, which reproduces the published spellbook text exactly; every rank text scanned for raw client tokens; the stored build codes replayed through the canon tests under the new layout; every PvP map's terrain re-measured on 1.60.1.70425; every line of Blizzard's notes checked against the tables; and the build's own hotfix cache decoded and every row compared with the build's own files.

Build 1.60.1.70338

Two builds in a row that change no game data: 1.60.1.70334 and 1.60.1.70338 rebuild the client's programs and shaders, and every table the site reads is 1.60.1.70291's, byte for byte. What is new arrives as server hotfixes, among them the level 35 requirement on the sixteen Gelkis and Magram rewards that Blizzard's 8 October notes promised.

Measured: no talent or spellbook text changed against 1.60.1.70291.

How this was measured

All 90 tables the site reads are byte-identical across 1.60.1.70291, 1.60.1.70334 and 1.60.1.70338, so the datasets compare empty: 467 talents in the same places with the same text and 68 prerequisite arrows, 434 spellbook abilities with 1,472 ranks, and every other table the site reads (quests, dungeons and maps, PvP, achievements, factions, professions, the Legacy trees) as before. wago's file diff for 70334 is 17 rebuilt program libraries and an icon list with one new icon; for 70338 it is 473 shaders (461 of them for Mac), the same 17 libraries and one unnamed file. Eleven of wago's table exports for 70334 still differ from 70291's, by 17 rows: three items whose rows sit in encrypted sections of database files that are byte-identical in both builds, readable now that their key is known. They are Azurky, an epic murloc companion taught by its item, whose tooltip still carries placeholder text; the Tabard of Eternal Exploration; and the Eternal Explorer's Backpack, worn in the cloak slot. Blizzard published no notes for either build; the only staff word is a developer's reply on 10 October that 70338 should fix the water in Stormwind on Mac, with a tinted-colour bug still open. What changed for players arrives as server hotfixes. The 70334 cache was read from a session's working copy, after that session ended without writing the finished file, and checked row for row against the session's own hotfix log; the 70338 cache, written when the game exited after a login on 10 October, holds the same rows plus one Classic item, Drake-scale Vest. Over the build's own rows they require level 35 for all sixteen Gelkis and Magram rewards in Desolace, the hotfix Blizzard's 8 October notes promised, at the item levels the 70291 hotfixes gave them (38 or 42; the four that are not weapons stay at 42), and they give Rapid Poison and Foul Disease, the damage effects beside the Discolored Healing Potions, one new attribute flag, which fits the notes' line that the potions' damage no longer breaks crowd control, though no table names the flag. Among the items the server supplies, five that the 70291 hotfixes had lowered to uncommon are rare again (Talvash's Gold Ring, Nogg's Gold Ring, Outlaw Sabre, Witch's Finger and Dreamer's Chestguard, which also gains a third stat), none of them a dungeon quest reward, and 32 are new to the server's list: five Classic items (Medal of Courage, Herod's Shoulder, Warchief Kilt, Earthen Rod, Maiden's Circle), the Drake-scale Vest, and 26 new rare items for levels 25 to 30 that no table of the build names, from Violet Sorcerer's robes, mantle, sandals, leggings and wraps to Archmagister's Faceted Pendant and Spine of the Devourer. No talent and no trainer spell is hotfixed, Disengage's threat and the quest map markers the 8 October notes listed are still not in the tables or the hotfixes, and the code layout stays: nothing moved, so no stored build changed spelling.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared across 1.60.1.70291, 1.60.1.70334 and 1.60.1.70338, and wago's file hash index checked for the database files behind the 11 exports that differ; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against 70291 and 70338 through the same resolver, each with its own hotfix cache, and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow (0 changes); wago's file diffs for both builds read; the 70334 session's working cache checked row for row against that session's hotfix log and decoded beside the build's own rows; the 70338 cache decoded and compared row by row with it; and both Blizzard forums read for staff posts after 8 October.

Blizzard's notes against the tables: ✓ 34 agree (1 through the hotfixes), ✕ 2 disagree, ? 39 not in the tables

WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated 8 October (8 October 2026)

  • The new City of Dalaran dungeon is open for testing: not in the tables. The map (2959), its two entry rows, its nine bosses and its Group Finder row (3271) have been in the client since the first beta build, 1.60.1.69893, and are the same in 1.60.1.70245 and 1.60.1.70291. Opening a dungeon for testing is a server switch no table carries.
  • Dungeon kills give about 20% more experience; a party member's experience for lower-level kills depends on their own level again, not the highest member's; a member far above the enemy still stops experience for everyone: not in the tables. Server calculations. The tables that hold experience and levels (QuestXP, ContentTuning, LFGDungeons, MapDifficulty) are identical in both builds.
  • Classic looting returns for creatures that dropped nothing, large creatures no longer flicker, unintended long-distance pulls are fixed, and several weapons can be swapped inside one global cooldown again: not in the tables. Server and engine behaviour; no table row changed for any of them.
  • The Cooldown Manager supports every class, racial ability and trinket, with consumables to follow: not in the tables. No table carries what the Cooldown Manager tracks.
  • Gamepad: a new indicator for actions you hold rather than press: the tables agree. Six interface texture pieces for a press-and-hold prompt (an indicator, a loading bar, its glow and a spinner tip) are new in the build's UiTextureAtlasMember table.
  • Gamepad: inputs keep working after looting, the map opens on the quest log, raid frame traversal is updated, and the gamepad action bar gets Edit Mode support, with its settings moved there and layouts saved per interface type: not in the tables. Interface code, which no table carries.
  • Every beta player is granted the Legacy Challenge, worth 16 Legacy Points: not in the tables. A lead, not a confirmation: the build adds a spell named Legacy Reputation Reward that raises Legacy reputation by 16, and an achievement named Played in the WoW: Forever Beta. The grant itself is server-side, and no table ties either to the challenge.
  • The cheapest Legacy talent re-spec costs 1 silver: not in the tables. No table carries the price.
  • The Legacy re-spec cost steps down by one re-spec every hour: the tables agree. The currency that counts Legacy talent resets (3499) now recharges every hour instead of every seven days.
  • Rage from taking damage is fixed: it no longer reads the player's health, it counts critical strikes and crushing blows, it ignores absorbs, and it is balanced around 20 to 40% armour instead of 50%: not in the tables. An engine calculation; no table row carries it.
  • Druids can drink Mana potions in Bear, Dire Bear and Cat Form: not in the tables. Shapeshift restrictions live in SpellShapeshift, a table the site does not read, and no changed row names a Mana potion.
  • Critical strikes give druids 100% extra Rage instead of 75%: not in the tables. No row carries the value: Bear Form (Passive) and Dire Bear Form (Passive) change only by losing their proc options.
  • Thorns deals its vanilla base damage again: the tables agree. Ranks 1 to 6 deal 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 instead of 4, 9, 11, 13, 16 and 22.
  • Thorns and Retribution Aura take 6% of spell power instead of 13.3%: not in the tables. Neither spell's effect rows carry a spell power coefficient in either build, so the ratio is set outside the tables.
  • Cat Form no longer lowers maximum health: not in the tables. No Cat Form row changed.
  • Bear Form and Dire Bear Form raise threat by 50% instead of 30%: the tables agree. The threat effect of Bear Form (Passive2), spell 21178, goes from 30 to 50.
  • Effects that replace a druid's form behave more like Classic; Noggenfogger Elixir still transforms: not in the tables. 337 transformation effects across the game (Polymorph: Chicken, Faerie Dragon Form and Ghoul Form among them) gain a second value the tables do not explain, and Noggenfogger Elixir's rows are unchanged.
  • Demoralizing Roar now generates threat: the tables agree. All five ranks gain a threat effect, worth 8, 16, 26, 34 and 42.
  • Wrath ranks 1 to 5 are re-cut so each new rank is an upgrade: the tables agree. Ranks 1 to 5 change their base and per-level damage: rank 1 deals 15 to 17 instead of 15 to 18, rank 2 deals 21 to 24 instead of 25 to 29.
  • Predatory Instincts is renamed Natural Instinct and also adds spell healing equal to 12/25% of Intellect: the tables agree. Same node, new name; the card gains the spell healing line at 12% and 25% of Intellect.
  • Shifting Power can no longer be used at full Energy: not in the tables. No Shifting Power row changed; a use restriction like this sits outside the tables the site reads.
  • Thick Hide now works in code rather than script: not in the tables. Related rows change (an aura type and two effect values), but where an effect runs is not something a table says.
  • Disengage's threat reduction is doubled, as intended: the tables disagree. Ranks 1 to 3 still remove 280, 560 and 810 threat, as in 1.60.1.70245, and the build's hotfix cache, read after a login on 8 October, carries no row for them.
  • Hunter pets no longer regain health over and over at low health: not in the tables. Server behaviour.
  • Unleashed Fury now raises pet damage correctly: not in the tables. Its effect switches from one aura type to another (108 to 107), which the tables do not name, so what it does now is not readable.
  • Improved Concussive Shot and Improved Wing Clip trigger at their intended chance: the tables agree. Their proc chances go from 20% and 4% to 100%.
  • Improved Wing Clip is less likely to trigger from ranks far below your level: not in the tables. A level-based reduction is not in a table.
  • Expose Prey lasts 10 sec instead of 5: the tables agree. Its effect's duration goes from 5 to 10 sec, and the talent card says 10 sec.
  • Entrapment has diminishing returns: the tables agree. Entrapment's diminishing-returns category goes from none to one.
  • Entrapment only triggers on Frost Trap's first activation, not on its ticks: not in the tables. No Frost Trap effect changed; the trap's aura spell only changed its name.
  • Impact no longer triggers from Flamestrike's periodic damage: not in the tables. No Impact or Flamestrike row changed.
  • Frostbolt and Fireball ranks 1 to 5 and Arcane Missiles ranks 1 to 3 are re-cut so each new rank is an upgrade: the tables agree. Frostbolt rank 1 deals 19 to 21 instead of 20 to 22 and rank 5 deals 104 to 114 instead of 96 to 106; Fireball rank 1 deals 15 to 23 instead of 16 to 25 and rank 5 deals 107 to 144 instead of 97 to 131; Arcane Missiles rank 2 hits for 35 instead of 33 and rank 3 for 49 instead of 46.
  • Retribution Aura uses the paladin's spell power, not the struck target's: not in the tables. An engine calculation.
  • Retribution Aura deals its vanilla base damage again, about a third less: the tables agree. Ranks 1 to 5 deal 5, 8, 12, 16 and 20 instead of 7, 12, 18, 24 and 30, between 29% and 33% less.
  • Reckoning can trigger at most once every 1.5 sec: the tables agree. Its proc gains a 1.5 sec internal cooldown, and the talent card says so.
  • Seal of Fury no longer returns Mana without the Improved Seal of Fury talent: not in the tables. Server behaviour.
  • Improved Seal of Fury and Shield Specialization no longer generate threat when they restore Mana: the tables agree. Both spells gain the attribute flag that, in the usual numbering, marks a spell as causing no threat.
  • Smite ranks 1 to 4, Lesser Heal ranks 1 to 3 and Heal ranks 1 and 2 are re-cut so each new rank is an upgrade: the tables agree. Exactly those spells change: Smite rank 1 deals 13 to 18 instead of 15 to 20, Lesser Heal rank 2 heals 89 to 106 instead of 76 to 91, Heal rank 1 heals 260 to 300 instead of 281 to 325.
  • Penance deals and heals less, having been treated as a 3-second channel instead of a 2-second one: the tables agree. Every rank is lower: rank 1 deals 45 instead of 81 and heals 134 instead of 184; rank 4 deals 92 instead of 131 and heals 425 instead of 673.
  • Penance costs more Mana, rank 1 half as much again: the tables agree. Rank 1 costs 150 Mana instead of 100, exactly 50% more; rank 2 costs 220 instead of 185 and rank 4 385 instead of 355; rank 3's cost row is unchanged.
  • Penance heals more on ranks 2 and 4: not in the tables. The tables hold only the new values, lower than 1.60.1.70245's on every rank, not the step in between this line is measured from. Ranks 2 and 4 keep a larger share of their old healing (72% and 63%) than rank 3 (58%), which is what a cut followed by a raise on those two would leave.
  • Flametongue Totem uses a shapeshifted target's attack speed: not in the tables. Engine behaviour; no Flametongue Totem row changed.
  • Lightning Bolt ranks 1 to 5 are re-cut so each new rank is an upgrade: the tables agree. Ranks 1 to 5 change their base and per-level damage; rank 1 deals 14 to 17 instead of 15 to 17.
  • Elemental Focus is no longer triggered and spent at once by Fire Nova: not in the tables. No Elemental Focus row changed.
  • Water Shield's buff shows the Mana it restores, and the spell no longer claims a 15 sec cooldown: the tables agree. The aura gains the second effect its text reads from, and the spell's 15 sec category cooldown is gone.
  • Mana Tide Totem shows its visual when it pulses: not in the tables. Art. The tables change Mana Tide Totem in ways the notes leave out: its spell level goes from 40 to 25, and two of its spells lose their proc options.
  • A warlock's current pet is stunned while a new one is summoned: not in the tables. The build adds a spell named Summoning Disorientation with no tooltip; what it does is not readable.
  • Shadow Bolt ranks 1 to 4 are re-cut so each new rank is an upgrade: the tables agree. Ranks 1 to 4 change their base and per-level damage; rank 2 deals 22 to 27 instead of 25 to 31.
  • Demonic Brand's bonus pet damage only causes high threat as Shadow damage: the tables agree. The text of all three ranks now says so.
  • Demoralizing Shout now generates threat: the tables agree. All five ranks gain a threat effect, worth 11, 19, 27, 35 and 43.
  • Impale requires Deep Wounds again: the tables agree. A new prerequisite arrow runs from Deep Wounds to Impale and asks for its 3 points, the vanilla arrow.
  • Deep Wounds no longer scales with off-hand attack power: not in the tables. No Deep Wounds row changed.
  • Last Stand grants the correct amount of health: not in the tables. Its effect switches between two health aura types (230 to 34) with the same base points; the amount it grants is not readable.
  • The new armour sets' shoulders are back to their proper size: not in the tables. Models and art.
  • Wolfshead Helm gives 5 extra Energy when Shifting Power is used; its Rage effect stays: the tables agree. Its Energy effect goes from 20 to 5 and the helm's text says 5 Energy from Shifting Power; the 50-point effect is unchanged.
  • Several dungeon quest rewards drop from rare to uncommon, with stats to match: the tables agree. Ten rewards in the build's own item table go from rare to uncommon, most with new stats, and the build's hotfix cache rates 77 of the items the server supplies uncommon where 1.60.1.70245's had them rare, 68 of them dungeon quest rewards.
  • Truthseeker's Bow requires level 40: the tables agree. Its required level goes from none to 40.
  • Transformative Cocoon is now a debuff: the tables agree. Its spell gains the attribute flag that marks a negative spell in the usual numbering.
  • The Revelation enchant survives Ghost Wolf and druid forms, and Enchant Weapon - Recovery works for shapeshifted druids: the tables agree. Both spells lose the attribute flag that, in the usual numbering, cancels an effect on shapeshifting.
  • The Peace Tea recipe sells for 10 copper: the tables agree. Its sell price goes from 18 silver 75 copper to 10 copper.
  • Minor Wizard Oil and nine Enchanting wands get new vendor prices: the tables agree. All ten sell prices match the notes to the copper: Minor Wizard Oil 1s, Novice's Practice Wand 5c, Lesser Magic Wand 1s 10c, Greater Magic Wand 2s, Lesser Mystic Wand 4s 50c, Greater Mystic Wand 6s, Twisted Nether Wand 10s, Dreambough Wand 15s, Lesser Eternal Wand 20s and Greater Eternal Wand 25s. Before, the oil sold for 5s and every wand for 1c.
  • Booty Bay Bruiser's Buckshot no longer knocks targets back: the tables agree. Its item effect, which the 1.60.1.70245 hotfixes had removed, is gone from the build's own files.
  • The sixteen new Gelkis and Magram rewards in Desolace are retuned, with a level 35 requirement to come in a later hotfix: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. The build's own item rows for all sixteen are 1.60.1.70245's. Its hotfix cache, read after a login on 8 October, changes fourteen of them: twelve drop from item level 43 to 38 or 42, Wanderer's Broadsword and Abandoned Ferocity re-split their stats, Abandoned Ferocity slows from 2.7 to 3.2 sec, and Traitor's Finger and Ceremonial Centaur Blanket change only a weapon-damage value they do not use. None requires level 35 yet.
  • Damage from Discolored Healing Potions no longer breaks crowd control: not in the tables. Whether damage breaks crowd control sits in SpellInterrupts, a table the site does not read; the potions' own rows are unchanged.
  • Critical strikes in PvP are no longer weaker, and Shipwreck Cove's capture point is where it belongs: not in the tables. An engine rule and the position of a world object, neither in a table.
  • Armor Kits that grant Attack Power no longer grant twice as much Ranged Attack Power: not in the tables. None of the 29 Armor Kit spells changed; what an enchantment grants sits in SpellItemEnchantment, a table the site does not read.
  • Will of the Forsaken can be used while asleep or charmed: not in the tables. Its three effects are rebuilt, but the attribute flags that allow use while incapacitated are unchanged, so the tables do not show this fix.
  • The Horn of Echeyakee is no longer used up during the quest Echeyakee: the tables agree. The horn's use effect no longer spends a charge.
  • The Eye of the Tempest for Heed My Call can drop for everyone: the tables agree. The item carries the multi-drop flag, which the 1.60.1.70245 hotfixes set and which is now in the build's own files.
  • New map markers for The Principal Source, the northern peons of Lazy Peons, the turn-in of Grim Tidings, Hidden Enemies and Plundering the Plunderers: the tables disagree. The quest map marker tables (QuestPOIBlob and QuestPOIPoint) are identical in both builds, and the build's hotfix cache, read after a login on 8 October, carries no row of either.
  • The new Gelkis and Magram quests need level 35 instead of 30, and the quests and creatures around Shadowvale and Bandarion Keep in Tirisfal Glades are higher level: not in the tables. Quest and creature levels are server-side: the quest table carries no level, and the beta's quest cache last answered for those quests before this build.
  • Fixes and faster respawns for many quests, from Blood Tithe and the capital-city barbers to Stitches, the Titan Relic, Sethir and Ulag the Cleaver: not in the tables. Server quest logic and world content, which no table carries; the only related row is a rename, Farsen's Farsight to Farsen's Far Sight.
  • Voice chat can use Discord, set by the party leader, and Group Finder postings can choose a voice mode: not in the tables. Interface code and the client's Discord library changed, neither of them a table.
  • Other interface changes: the inspect window, combo points on the target frame and personal resource display, quest types and level requirements in the quest log and tracker, buffed stats, macros, the Legacy Challenge window, View Talents in the target menu, and level and class on the character pane: not in the tables. Interface code, which no table carries.
  • Known issues: Skyborne cat form and some creature, mount and pet textures still to come, a display bug with the Ferocity talent, and broken icons in the Professions window: not in the tables. Art and interface display. The Professions window's texture atlas was re-cut in this build, which fits the icon issue but does not prove it.
How this was measured

41 of the 90 tables changed between 1.60.1.70245 and 1.60.1.70291. Part of that is the server's hotfixes moving into the files: the warrior Fury and Protection rework, which until now existed only as hotfix rows, is in the build's own tables (Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker are spells of the build, and the nodes of Precision, Improved Cleave and Toughness are gone), and it reads exactly as this site already showed it. Measured against what the site showed, the build changes 74 things. The trees keep all 467 talents in the same places with the same rank counts. One prerequisite changed: Impale needs 3 points in Deep Wounds, the vanilla arrow, where it needed no other talent, so stored builds that put points in Impale without them lose those points (55 saved builds and 3 votes move to their new spelling). Predatory Instincts is renamed Natural Instinct on the same node and also adds spell healing equal to 25% of Intellect, and its old page now leads to the new one. Talent texts: Spearing Strike regains its dismount sentence, Reckoning can trigger at most once every 1.5 sec, Expose Prey lasts 10 sec instead of 5, Penance deals 45 instead of 81 and heals 134 instead of 184 at rank 1, Demonic Brand's high threat now applies only to Shadow damage, and Furor is rewritten so that Bear Form forfeits the stored Energy. Spellbook: Frostbolt (104 to 114, was 96 to 106 at rank 5), Fireball, Arcane Missiles, Lightning Bolt, Shadow Bolt and Lesser Heal hit or heal harder; Heal, Smite, Wrath, Thorns and every Penance rank less, Penance at a higher Mana cost; Retribution Aura deals 20 instead of 30; Aspect of the Beast and three ranks of Contingency Plan are reworded without new numbers. Beyond the trees, 40 profession recipes changed (21 cooking recipes' skill colours, four category moves, a handful of enchanting, engineering and first-aid adjustments), seven Excavation Site: Wetlands quest rewards drop from rare to uncommon in the build's own item table, Guardians of Hyjal's description is corrected, and the Legacy Track gains a second reward spell worth 16 reputation; every PvP map's terrain measures as before. The site also repaired three tooltips while reading this build: Demonic Brand and Contingency Plan had been showing the client's raw tokens in place of numbers, and this build gave Immolation Trap's burn and Touch of Weakness's proc tooltip text of their own, which would otherwise have listed them as extra ranks. The build's own hotfix cache was read after a login on 8 October, once the realms were back (28,706 entries), and it replaces the item rows the site had kept from the 70245 cache until then. It supplies 4,671 Classic items this build's item table lacks, the 4,651 the 70245 cache did and 20 more, and rates 77 of them uncommon where they were rare (68 rewards of dungeon quests, six of other quests and three of none the cache knows) and one, Scholarly Robes, rare where it was uncommon; Tail Spike needs level 16 instead of 17. Over the build's own rows it changes 15 items: 12 of the 16 new Gelkis and Magram rewards in Desolace drop from item level 43 to 38 or 42 (Wanderer's Broadsword and Abandoned Ferocity also re-split their stats, and Abandoned Ferocity slows from 2.7 to 3.2 sec), two more (Traitor's Finger and Ceremonial Centaur Blanket) change only a weapon-damage value a ring and a cloak do not use, none of them yet with the level 35 requirement Blizzard's notes promise for a later hotfix, and Silver Star goes from item level 37 to 35. Its spell rows touch one item's spell (Sacred Cleansing's radius) and two spells that are on no skill line and no item (Rend Flesh and Highland Venom), so no talent and no trainer spell, and its 25 quest rows repeat the build's own.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70245 and 1.60.1.70291; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against both builds through the same resolver, 70245 with its hotfixes, and diffed node by node, rank by rank and arrow by arrow; every profession recipe compared by its spell rather than by its place in the list; the PvP, reputation and dungeon datasets compared with and without the kept item rows, to tell the server's items from the build's own changes; every PvP map's terrain re-measured on 1.60.1.70291; every rank text scanned for raw client tokens; the stored build codes replayed through the canon tests under the new trees; and this build's own hotfix cache (28,706 entries), written when the game exited after a login on 8 October, decoded, laid over the tables and compared row by row with the build's own rows and with the 70245 cache whose item rows it replaces.

7 October 2026

Build 1.60.1.70245

The third build in a row to change nothing the site reads: every one of the 90 tables is byte for byte 1.60.1.70235's, and so 1.60.1.70170's; Blizzard's notice of the realm restart an hour before it was listed names no build and lists three fixes, none to a talent or a spell, and the warrior rework is still served as hotfixes.

Measured: no talent or spellbook text changed against 1.60.1.70235.

How this was measured

All 90 tables the site reads hash-compared equal between 1.60.1.70235 and 1.60.1.70245, so the datasets compare empty again: 467 talents in the same places with the same text, every spellbook rank identical. wago's file diff for the build is 17 rebuilt DLLs, the same 17 files the build before rebuilt (one, compared byte for byte, differs only in 30 bytes of link stamps and debug identifiers), with no database file, no interface Lua and no shader among them, and both builds list the same 612 table names. Blizzard published no notes for it. The only staff posts are a notice at 21:20 UTC on 6 October of realm restarts at 22:00 UTC, naming no build, and a follow-up half an hour later: the restart brought fixes for quest items meant to restock in chests that had gone missing, for a disconnect when riding an elevator or a transport, and for an error when joining or leaving a guild. None of the three is a row in any table, and wago listed 70245 about an hour after that restart. The Fury and Protection rework is still not in the build's own tables: no spell called Lingering Rage, Furious Precision or Gore Drinker exists in them, and the nodes for Precision, Improved Cleave and Toughness are still there, so it still reaches the client as server hotfixes. Until the first game exit on this build the overlay in use was the one the 70235 client wrote on the evening of 6 October, carried over because every table it sits on is byte-identical, and the footers said so; that cache was newer than the one the 70235 entry read (11 more item rows, 2 quest rows and an effect row on an NPC's spell, and the removal of a spell row the build's own tables never had), none of it a talent or a spell a player casts. This build's own cache has replaced it. The game hung on its first exit and never wrote the finished file, so the cache was read from the session's working copy once the process was ended, after checking that it ends cleanly and holds every row the client's hotfix log validated for that login. It matched the carried rows to the row, as 70235's and 70205's did before it, and adds one SpellLevels row for a spell no page names, one item, and rows in game-rule and broadcast-text tables the site does not read. Older build links open as the build they meant: the trees did not move, so the code layout stays and nothing in the stored builds changed spelling.

Every one of the 90 raw tables compared between 1.60.1.70235 and 1.60.1.70245 by three tools (cmp, MD5 and SHA-256), and eight tables outside the pipeline as controls; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against both builds, each with the hotfix overlay, and diffed node by node and rank by rank; the 70235 overlay regenerated from the cache written on 6 October and compared row by row with the copy the 70235 entry read, then carried to this build and its meta checked; the build-code tests re-run, none moving; wago's file diff for the build read file by file and one rebuilt DLL compared byte for byte; this build's own cache (30,311 entries), read from the session's working copy after the game hung on exit, checked to end cleanly and to hold every row the client's hotfix log validated for the login, then compared row by row with the carried overlay; and both Blizzard forums read for every staff post after 5 October.

Build 1.60.1.70235

The second build in a row to change nothing the site reads: every one of the 90 tables is byte for byte 1.60.1.70205's, and so 1.60.1.70170's; the warrior rework is still served as hotfixes rather than table rows, and this build's own hotfix cache matches the last one on every talent and spell.

Measured: no talent or spellbook text changed against 1.60.1.70205.

How this was measured

All 90 tables the site reads hash-compared equal between 1.60.1.70205 and 1.60.1.70235, so the datasets compare empty again: 467 talents in the same places with the same text, every spellbook rank identical. wago's file diff for the build is 17 rebuilt DLLs and two files removed (the two China-region exception handlers 70205 had added), with no database file, no interface Lua and no shader among them, and both builds list the same 612 table names. The client's own cache, read after the first game exit on this build, holds the same trait, curve and spell rows as the 70205 cache; it adds 94 item rows, 11 quest rows, one achievement-criteria row and nine DungeonEncounter rows that change only the difficulty id on Gnomeregan's and Blackfathom Deeps' bosses, which the pages fold back into one boss list per group size, so the two dungeons read as before. The Fury and Protection rework is still not in the build's own tables: no spell called Lingering Rage, Furious Precision or Gore Drinker exists in them, and the nodes for Precision, Improved Cleave and Toughness are still there, so it still reaches the client as server hotfixes. Until that first game exit the overlay in use was the one the 70205 client wrote, carried over because every table it sits on is byte-identical, and the footers said so; the client's own cache has replaced it and matched the carried rows to the row, as 70205's did before it. Blizzard published no notes for this build: its posts between 3 and 5 October are a bug-fix reply, a Gnomeregan loot-fix reply and a restart notice on the evening of 5 October that names no build, about twenty minutes before wago listed 70235. Older build links open as the build they meant: the trees did not move, so the code layout stays and nothing in the stored builds changed spelling.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70205 and 1.60.1.70235, twice over by two tools; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against both builds, each with the hotfix overlay, and diffed node by node and rank by rank; the carried overlay regenerated for this build and its meta checked, then the client's own cache (34,900 entries) read after the first game exit and compared row by row with it; the stored build codes re-read through the canon tests, none moving; wago's file diff for the build read file by file; and both Blizzard forums read for any post after the 1 October notes.

Build 1.60.1.70205

Nothing the site reads changed: every one of the 90 tables is byte for byte 1.60.1.70170's, the warrior rework is still served as hotfixes rather than table rows, and the 467 talents, every spellbook rank and every other dataset read the same as yesterday.

Measured: no talent or spellbook text changed against 1.60.1.70170.

How this was measured

All 90 tables the site reads hash-compared equal between 1.60.1.70170 and 1.60.1.70205, and both builds list the same 612 table names. wago's file diff for the build is 521 files: 500 shaders, 17 DLLs, two interface Lua files (a closure helper in the talent display, a whisper-name pattern in the chat box) and two re-added DLLs, and not one database file is among them. The generated datasets therefore compare empty: 467 talents in the same places with the same text, every spellbook rank identical. That includes the warrior trees. The Fury and Protection rework is still not in the build's own tables: no spell called Lingering Rage, Furious Precision or Gore Drinker exists in them, and the nodes for Precision, Improved Cleave and Toughness are still there, so it still reaches the client as server hotfixes, as it did on 70170. The site reads those from the beta client's hotfix cache, which the client writes afresh for each build. Until the client had been run on 1.60.1.70205 the overlay was the one a 70170 client received, carried over because every table it sits on is byte-identical; the 70205 client's own cache, read after the first login, holds the same trait, curve and spell rows to the row, plus 22 item rows and one spell row that session saw, and has replaced the carried copy. Blizzard published no notes for this build: the newest post on either forum is from 2 October, a warrior thread that repeats all 30 of its bullets from the 1 October notes. The same update refreshes the beta caches from last night's play: the hotfix cache grew by 72 item rows, the quest cache answered 408 quests on the 70170 cache and 105 more on this build's (1,522 quests now carry a faction reward, 99 of them confirmed by a turn-in the addon saw), and the creature cache and the addon's own log were re-read.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70170 and 1.60.1.70205, twice over by two tools; the two builds' full table lists compared (612 names each); wago's file diff for the build read file by file and both interface Lua changes read; the talent pipeline and the spellbook run against both builds, each with the hotfix overlay, and diffed node by node and rank by rank; the hotfix cache re-read (31,549 entries) and its overlay regenerated, every carried row checked identical to 70170's; the stored build codes re-read through the canon tests, none moving; the 70205 client's own hotfix cache (29,541 entries) read after a login on the new build and compared row by row with the carried overlay; and both Blizzard forums read for any post after the 1 October notes.

Build 1.60.1.70170

The build whose Fury and Protection rework arrives as server hotfixes, not table rows: read with the beta client's hotfix cache, the warrior trees gain Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker and lose Improved Cleave, Precision, Boundless Rage and Toughness; Feral gets Shifting Power; 156 measured changes; Darkspear Islands built on 24 of its 25 tiles; the Honor cap raised from 15,000 to 25,000.

Blizzard's notes against the tables: ✓ 51 agree (9 through the hotfixes), ✕ 2 disagree, ? 18 not in the tables

WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated 1 October (1 October 2026)

  • Improved rain visibility; the Ray Traced Shadows option removed; weapon sizes in hand and on the back made consistent across races: not in the tables. Rendering and settings, which no table carries. The interface strings for the Ray Traced Shadows option are still in the client, unchanged; no table holds a weapon's scale, and no item's sheathe type changed.
  • Night Watchman's Torch no longer causes lag and can be cancelled: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: the two spells named Night Watchman's Torch changed and nothing else carries the name. The buff now reads "Holding the Night Watchman's Torch." instead of "Illuminated by the Night Watchman's Torch.", and both spells had attribute flags changed, one of them losing the flag the site reads as hidden. The tables name neither the flags nor a cancel rule, and lag is not in them.
  • Players can level up to 30; barbershops in Darnassus and Thunder Bluff, barbers in every barbershop and guards who give directions to them; world instances adjusted, and party leaders no longer transferred when a party changes: not in the tables. Server behaviour, which no table that changed carries: the quest-experience, content-tuning, talent-point and class tables are byte for byte as they were in 1.60.1.70124, and the client's barbershop interface strings are unchanged.
  • New dungeon: Excavation Site: Wetlands (26–31): not in the tables. The map has been in the client since 1.60.1.69893, with four encounters (Saltspine, Shadetooth, Highland Horror and Relic Guardian), and nothing about it changed in this build. Its dungeon-finder row is tuned for level 26; 31 appears nowhere. Opening it is the server's decision.
  • Razorfen Downs (25+) and Uldaman (30+) now open, beside the eleven dungeons already available: the tables disagree. Razorfen Downs' entry message still reads "You must be at least level 35 to enter."; 25 is Razorfen Kraul's level. Uldaman's says level 30, as the notes do. Who may enter is server-side, and all eleven already-open dungeons are maps in both builds.
  • Camping: Boosted Rest has a clearer icon and tooltip, and camp features say "mutually exclusive" instead of "exclusive": the tables agree. Boosted Rest's icon changed from Spell_Nature_Sleep to XPBonus_Icon, and its text from "Recently rested in a Camp Tent, unable to benefit again" to "You cannot gain more rested experience from a Camp Tent", with its one-hour duration unchanged. Nine camp-feature descriptions now say "mutually exclusive": Camp Chair, Enchanted Lute, both Faction Banners, First Aid Kit, Fish Bowl, Incense Candle, Lodestone and Sharpening Wheel.
  • Campfires no longer damage players below level 5, and deal less damage to players under 90% health: not in the tables. No Campfire spell changed, and neither the level-5 nor the 90% condition is in any table that did.
  • Savory Whimsyfin Delight uses an orc equivalent of the Ninja and Pirate outfits; a bind-on-equip item whose appearance you have not collected becomes soulbound when sold to a vendor (was bound to account): not in the tables. Neither Savory Whimsyfin Delight spell changed, and what a vendor sale does to an item is a server rule. The one binding change the tables carry is not in the notes: twelve items, six of them bronze weapons and armour, now bind when equipped.
  • Bear Form and Dire Bear Form generate 75% more Rage from critical strikes: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: both forms' passives gained a proc with a 100% chance, and no other druid spell changed that way. The 75% is in no row, and the tables do not say what the proc does.
  • Swipe now gains 3% of the druid's attack power (its tooltip will not show it until a later update): not in the tables. None of the 20 spells named Swipe changed, and every one still has no attack-power scaling in its effects; a 3% term is in no table.
  • Tiger's Fury has been removed (listed under Druid and again under Feral): the tables agree. The druid spellbook no longer lists it: its trainer row now carries the value the site reads as not taught by a trainer. The spell itself is unchanged and was never a talent, and the Tier 1 Feral five-piece bonus that named it now names Shifting Power.
  • All shapeshift forms are immune to Disarm effects: the tables agree. Cat, Bear, Dire Bear, Aquatic, Travel and Moonkin Form each gained an immunity to the client's "disarmed" mechanic, the kind of effect Berserker Rage uses for its Fear and Incapacitate immunity.
  • Faerie Fire no longer resets your swing timer: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: Faerie Fire ranks 1 to 4 each lost an interrupt row, the only Faerie Fire rows that changed. The tables do not name what that row governed.
  • Primal Bite's threat roughly doubled: the tables agree. Its tooltip now ends "and generating a high amount of threat" on every rank, and nothing else in its rows changed; no threat number is in the tables. Its trainer ranks also entered the druid spellbook, from level 36.
  • The King of the Jungle talent has been removed; connected to Shredding Attacks in the 4th row is a new talent, Shifting Power: Cat Form only, 16 sec cooldown, converts 55% of base Mana (Cat Form's cost) into 40 Energy, cheaper with shapeshift-cost reductions: the tables agree. King of the Jungle's node was re-labelled rather than deleted: it now carries Shifting Power, cut from three ranks to one, and moved from row 5 to the head of row 4, with an arrow from Shredding Attacks (all three ranks), which moved up from row 4 to row 3. Predatory Instincts took King of the Jungle's old place in row 5. Neither of those two moves is in the notes. The spell is Cat Form only, costs 55% of base Mana as Cat Form does, converts it into 40 Energy on a 16 sec cooldown, and falls within Natural Shapeshifter's cost reduction. Points spent in King of the Jungle on older build links land on Shifting Power, and the notice on the page names any it cannot hold.
  • New talent Improved Shifting Power, in the 5th row and connected to Shifting Power: reduces its cooldown by 4/8 sec: the tables agree. A new node of two ranks, first in row 5 beneath Shifting Power, with an arrow from it; the ranks read "by 4 sec" and "by 8 sec". It is the one talent this build added, taking the trees from 467 talents to 468.
  • Icons for Improved Stings and Predator's Edge changed to be more Vanilla feeling: the tables agree. Improved Stings now uses Ability_Hunter_Quickshot (was Hunter_PVP_SpiderSting) and Predator's Edge Ability_DualWield (was Ability_Hunter_HatchetToss).
  • Sniper Shot has a 45-yard range and adds 10 yards to your next 3 shots within 10 sec: the tables agree. All three ranks moved from a 35 yd range to a new 45 yd one, and rank 1's tooltip went from "A steady snipe that increases ranged damage by 160." to "A long-range shot that deals ranged damage plus 160 and increases the range of your next 3 Shots by 10 yards for 10 sec."
  • Deflection's Parry bonus is 1/2/3/4/5% (was 2/4/6/8/10%): the tables agree. The hunter talent's five ranks read 1% to 5% where they read 2% to 10%.
  • Aggressive Mode is back under the pet tab of the spellbook, for hunter and warlock pets; tameable beasts' pet-ability ranks corrected: not in the tables. The Aggressive Mode interface strings are in the client unchanged, and no spell or skill-line row for it changed; which ranks a beast may learn is not in the tables. The one pet-line change is the Bat line gaining its five Sonic Blast ranks.
  • Mage scrolls from Comprehension had another balance pass and can no longer be cast while moving: the tables agree. Cryoblast's base value went from 215 to 50 plus 8 per level and Greater Cryoblast's from 755 to 400 plus 12 per level, and five Imbue enchantments became flat bonuses instead of procs. The 14 Imbue-scroll casts gained interrupt flags where they had none and nine more scroll spells had theirs changed; the tables do not name the flags.
  • Hot Streak renamed Heating Up, since it no longer depends on a streak: the tables agree. Same node, new name and icon, and the tooltip no longer names a buff: "Non-periodic critical strikes with Fireball, Frostfire Bolt, Fire Blast, and Scorch reduce the cast time of your next Pyroblast cast within 20 sec by 25%, stacking up to 3 times." Points in Hot Streak on older build links land on Heating Up.
  • Combustion's charges returned to 3 (was 4): the tables agree. The tooltip now ends "until you have caused 3 non-periodic critical strikes with Fire spells", where it said 4.
  • Improved Scorch's Fire Vulnerability no longer rolls a second time to resist, and Winter's Chill's application no longer rolls to be resisted: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: both gained one attribute flag that in this build only Shadow Weaving and one creature spell also gained. The tables do not name it.
  • Redoubt's chance to Block is 4/8/12/16/20% (was 6/12/18/24/30%): the tables agree. All five ranks read 4% to 20% where they read 6% to 30%.
  • Holy Shield's chance to Block is 30% (was 20%): the tables agree. All three ranks, the talent and its two trained ranks, now read "Increases chance to block by 30%" where they said 20%.
  • Champion of the Light's Intellect to spell damage ratio is 20/40/60% (was 33/66/100%), and its tooltip no longer claims Healing: the tables agree. Rank 1 now reads "Increases your spell damage by up to 20% of your Intellect." where it read "spell damage and healing by up to 33%"; ranks 2 and 3 read 40% and 60%. The healing effect itself was deleted from the spell, not only from its text.
  • Devouring Plague can now critically strike: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: all six ranks gained one attribute flag that in this build only Hellfire's damage ranks also gained, Hellfire being the other spell the notes say can now crit. The tables do not name the flag.
  • Shadow Word: Death no longer always benefits from Early Demise: not in the tables. Shadow Word: Death changed by one doubled space, and no row tied to Early Demise changed; the health threshold is in neither.
  • Inner Focus no longer applies its critical strike bonus to periodic effects: the tables agree. The tooltip now reads "if it is a non-periodic spell and capable of a critical effect", and the set of spells its bonus covers changed with it.
  • Shadow Weaving can no longer fail to apply: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: Shadow Weaving gained the same unnamed attribute flag as Fire Vulnerability and Winter's Chill, the other two spells whose resist rolls the notes mention.
  • A missed Expose Armor no longer costs all your combo points: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: all five ranks had two attribute flags changed, a change no other spell shares, and the tables do not name them. The tooltip only capitalised "Armor".
  • Setup only adds combo points to your target if it is the one you dodged or resisted: the tables agree. All three ranks now say "after Dodging one of their attacks or fully resisting one of their spells" where they said "an attack" and "a spell", and its effect changed type with it.
  • Ghost Wolf is more visible in well-lit areas: not in the tables. A rendering change; nothing named Ghost Wolf changed in the tables.
  • Disease Cleansing Totem lasts 5 minutes: the tables agree. Its tooltip now ends "Lasts 5 min." where it said 2 min.
  • Totemic Recall restores Mana: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: a companion spell, also named Totemic Recall, was added with a Mana-restoring effect whose amount reads 0, and the trained spell gained one attribute flag. Its tooltip still offers 25% of each destroyed totem's Mana; the amount restored is not in the rows.
  • Drain Soul is interrupted when the warlock begins casting another spell: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: all four ranks had their channel-interrupt flags changed, the only such change in the build. The tables do not name the flags.
  • The Incubus model was replaced with a lower-resolution one: not in the tables. Models are not in the tables the site reads.
  • Hellfire can now critically strike: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: its three damage ranks gained the same unnamed attribute flag as Devouring Plague's six, and a second flag changed. The tables do not say what either does.
  • Soul Harvesting renamed Soul Harvest, now correctly granting its 50/100% increase to Mana regeneration: the tables agree. Same node, new name, and the buff behind it had its first effect changed. The tooltip now reads "Killing a non-trivial target afflicted by your Drain Soul increases your Mana regeneration by 50% for 10 sec and allows 50% of normal Mana regeneration to continue while casting." (100% at rank 2). Points in Soul Harvesting on older build links land on Soul Harvest.
  • Critical strikes with a basic attack generate 75% more Rage (and, a few lines on, 100% more, was 75%): not in the tables. Neither number is in any row. What the tables add is a hidden warrior spell with no tooltip, Rule of Rage (DND), on the Defense skill line with a 100% proc, and the hotfixes give it a 100% effect; the Rage-granting spell that was named Dual Wield Specialization now carries the same name.
  • Rend and Sunder Armor instantly tap enemies to the warrior: the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: all seven Rend ranks and all five Sunder Armor ranks gained the same attribute flag, and no other spell changed that flag in this build. The tables do not name it.
  • Queueing Heroic Strike no longer increases off-hand hit chance, and Dual Wield Specialization no longer grants its hit chance to both weapons: not in the tables. Which hand a hit bonus reaches is combat logic, and Heroic Strike has no changed row. Dual Wield Specialization's hotfixed text no longer mentions hit at all (off-hand hit is Furious Precision's now), so the line the known issues describe as reaching both weapons is gone.
  • Spearing Strike no longer requires a two-handed weapon, and requires Battle Stance: the tables agree. Its weapon list now adds one-handed axes, maces and swords, fist weapons, daggers and spears to the two-handers, and a Battle Stance requirement was added. Its tooltip dropped "Mounted targets are dismounted."
  • Dual Wield Specialization no longer increases off-hand Rage generation by 20/40/60/80/100%: the tables disagree. The build's own rows agree (the clause left all five ranks), but the hotfixed text puts it back at half the size: rank 5 now reads "Increases the damage done by your off-hand weapon by 25% and the Rage generated by your off-hand attacks by 50%". What left instead is the hit clause.
  • Unbridled Rage's lower-than-intended proc chance fixed: the tables agree. No talent is called Unbridled Rage; the Fury talent Unbridled Wrath's own proc chance rose from 60 to 100. The 12–60% chance its tooltip states by rank did not change.
  • Booming Voice: 10/20/30/40/50% larger area for your Shouts and 5/10/15/20/25% lower Rage costs: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. The build's rows have only the old area half, "Increases the radius of your Battle Shout and Demoralizing Shout abilities by 10%", up to 50%. The hotfixed spell reads "Increases the area of effect of your Shouts by 10% and reduces their Rage cost by 5%", with a second effect and a curve running 5 to 25%.
  • Unbridled Wrath no longer grants twice the Rage with two-handed weapons: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. In the build's rows every rank still ends "This effect is increased to 2 Rage for two-handed weapons."; the hotfixed text drops the sentence. Its proc chance rose from 60 to 100 in the rows themselves.
  • Fury layout: new talents Lingering Rage (row 2, Rage decays 2/4/6/8/10 sec later), Furious Precision (row 3, 4/7/10% off-hand hit) and Gore Drinker (row 6, after Enrage, 0.5/1% Health back on 3 melee attacks); Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage removed; Improved Berserker Rage to row 5 (was 6); Flurry reached through Death Wish instead of Enrage: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. None of it is in the build's tables, where row 2 holds Iron Will, row 3 Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage with three ranks each, and the arrow from Enrage still reaches Flurry. The hotfix cache carries all of it: Iron Will's node re-pointed to Lingering Rage (Rage decays 2/4/6/8/10 sec later, by its curve), Boundless Rage's node re-pointed to Furious Precision (4/7/10% off-hand hit) and moved into Improved Cleave's place, Improved Cleave's node removed, a new node in row 6 for Gore Drinker (two ranks, 0.5% and 1% of maximum Health on your next 3 melee attacks after Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish or Bloodthirst) with the arrow from Enrage, a new arrow from Death Wish to Flurry, and Improved Berserker Rage moved up to row 5, into the place of Precision (1–3% hit), which the notes do not mention and which left too.
  • Blood Craze no longer activates from Bloodthirst: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. The build's rows still trigger it from Bloodthirst; the hotfixed text on all three ranks reads "after being the victim of a critical strike or suffering more than 20% of your maximum Health from a single attack".
  • Raging Blows reduces the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3, and no longer makes Whirlwind strike with the off-hand, which Whirlwind now always does: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. The build's row still reads "Causes your Whirlwind to also strike with your Off Hand weapon, and reduces the Rage cost of your Cleave ability by 2."; the hotfixed one reads "Reduces the Rage cost of your Cleave and Whirlwind abilities by 3.", and the hotfixed Whirlwind says "causing weapon damage from both melee weapons to each enemy".
  • Dual Wield Specialization no longer grants hit to your off-hand attacks: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. In the build's rows all five ranks still give 2% to 10% chance to hit with off-hand attacks; the hotfixed text has no hit clause, and the hit effect is Furious Precision's now.
  • Berserker Rage available at level 30 (was 32): the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. The build's level row says 32; the hotfixed one says 30, and the spellbook lists it there.
  • Bloodthirst's Attack Power ratio increased to 45% (was 35%): the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. The build's effect rows deal 35% of Attack Power on all four ranks; the hotfixed rows say 45%, and the tooltips here read 45%.
  • Protection layout: Iron Will to row 1 (was Fury row 2), Anticipation to row 2 (was 1), Improved Bloodrage to row 1 (was 2), Improved Revenge to row 2 (was 3), Improved Disarm to row 3 (was 4), Improved Shield Bash to row 4 (was 5); Toughness removed: the build's own tables disagree, the server's hotfixes agree. In the build's tables every one is where the notes' own "was" puts it, and Toughness is still in row 2 with five ranks. The hotfix cache moves them all: a new node in row 1 for Iron Will with five ranks (its Fury node having become Lingering Rage), Anticipation to row 2, Improved Bloodrage to row 1 without its arrow to Last Stand, Improved Revenge to row 2, Improved Disarm to row 3, Improved Shield Bash to row 4, Toughness's node removed, and three the notes do not list: Vanguard changes column in row 4, Focused Rage rises to row 5 and Bastion drops to row 6.
  • Cooldown Manager supports racials and the rogue and lists each spell once; gamepad support for the stable, the compact raid and party frames and gamepad-bar macros, with fixed gamepad bindings; matching character-creation icons for Standard Definition models; full names in loot rolls; item suffixes in the auction house: not in the tables. Interface code, not table data. The nearest rows: two Cooldown Manager art pieces swapped sizes, six gamepad press-and-hold art pieces and a "Gamepad Action Bar" label were added, and 39 race icons, 23 of them Standard Definition ones, were repositioned in their art sheet.
  • Honor costs for PvP gear and upgrade tokens rose, most by about 50%: the tables agree. All 23 Honor prices in the client rose, and nothing else in the price table changed: 16 by exactly 50% (6,000 to 9,000, 15,000 to 22,500), the other seven by 32.5% to 60%, from 93,250 to 139,300 Honor across the 23 (+49.4%). The Mark of Honor counts did not change. Which item each price belongs to is server-side.
  • The Honor cap increased from 15,000 to 25,000: the tables agree. Honor Points' maximum reads 25,000 where it read 15,000, the only currency change in the build; the dearest Honor price, 22,500, sits under it.
  • Shenthul in Orgrimmar trains Windshaper Skyborne; Blacksmithing and Leatherworking recipes meant as random dungeon drops are now available: not in the tables. Trainer lists and drop tables are server-side, and the Windshaper Skyborne race row is unchanged. The recipe changes the tables do carry are not in the notes: ten Blacksmithing belts and gauntlets moved from the Plate to the Mail categories, Winter Boots from Leather Gauntlets to Leather Boots, and 15 recipes, 14 of them camp features, lost the skill levels at which they change colour.
  • All crafted common and uncommon wands sell to vendors for 1 copper: the tables agree. Eight wands now sell for 1 copper, so all nine common and uncommon wands Enchanting makes read 1 (the ninth already did); the rare and epic crafted wands kept their prices.
  • Fewer Poor Copper Vein nodes in starter areas; creatures can once again be skinned only once: not in the tables. Node spawns and the skinning rule are server-side; nothing about either is in the tables.
  • Dungeon quests reward 50% less extra experience; fixes for escort quests with 25 or more quests in the log, multi-drop quest items, shareable item quests, quest-log sorting for "Destruction in Deadmines" and "A Frightened Request", loot in the Great Cat Spirit quests and "Power Over Poison" for High Order Skyborne; respawn changes in Hillsbrad Foothills, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Duskwood, Thousand Needles, Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, Orgrimmar, Redridge Mountains, Wailing Caverns and Westfall: not in the tables. Quest experience, quest rules, loot, sorting and spawns are server-side: the client holds quest ids, not their contents, and its quest-experience table is byte for byte the same. The two Great Cat Spirit blessings changed their wording only, and Cure Poison's trainer rows did not change.
  • Certain quest rewards have been recalibrated: the tables agree. Eighteen items changed item level, quality or stats, five of them rewards in the client's own quest cache: Verigan's Fist (The Test of Righteousness), which also gained a Holy Forgefire proc; Scholarly Pendant and Erudite's Amulet (Friend of the Library), item level 25 to 23; and Idol of Shifting Tides and Totem of Charged Flames (Meddlesome Mages), renamed and raised in level. The cache does not cover the rest.
  • The Tharnariun's Hope item works during "Plagued Lands": the tables agree. Only as far as the rows go: both spells the item uses changed (the trap's effect points at a different id, the capture has a different range) and each lost a proc row. What the issue was is not in the tables.
  • The quest "Kyle's Gone Missing!" has been added: the tables agree. The client gained four quest ids, whose titles are server-side, and a new quest item, Tender Strider Meat ("Kyle would delight in taking a bite out of this succulent treat!"), used by a new spell, Lunch for Kyle.
  • Players can no longer receive multiple copies of the Bloodied Insignia: the tables agree. Bloodied Insignia is now limited to one, needs level 16 and moved from miscellaneous to quest items.
  • Eureka! no longer benefits periodic effects; channelled spells do not count as periodic: the tables agree. Four of its five class copies now say "non-periodic" (rogue, warrior, warlock and priest), and all five had the set of spells they cover edited; the mage copy kept its old text. Nothing in the rows carries the channelled-spell clause.
  • Cannibalize cannot be used while immune to Physical damage: not in the tables. Cannibalize did not change; the condition is in no table.
  • The character sheet's Spell Damage and Spell Healing tooltips explain that low spell ranks benefit less: the tables agree. Both strings gained "Spell ranks far below your current level benefit less from Spell Damage and trigger class abilities less often", with Spell Healing in the healing one. They do not mention Talents, Frostbite or Omen of Clarity.
  • Stables frame art updated; combo points on the target frame and Personal Resource Display have new art: the tables agree. Thirteen new stables art pieces arrived in two new art sheets, and the rogue combo-point icon shrank from 22 to 14 pixels in one sheet and from 44 to 28 in the other; no Personal Resource Display piece can be told apart by name.
  • Known issues new to this build, from spell-chaining effects to children's hats: not in the tables. None is a table value. Two touch rows: the dwarf's splash sound moved from one sound kit to another in this very build, which the tables cannot rank as updated or not, and Dual Wield Specialization's hit clause, which the known issue says reaches both weapons, is gone from the hotfixed text altogether.
How this was measured

46 of the 90 tables changed between 1.60.1.70124 and 1.60.1.70170, after two builds that changed none, and that was only half the build. The warrior rework Blizzard's notes describe is in none of those tables: no warrior node moved in them and no spell called Lingering Rage, Furious Precision or Gore Drinker exists in them. It is in the server's hotfixes, which the client keeps in its hotfix cache and applies over the tables before it draws a tree; a comparison made from the tables alone, as this page first was, read the rework as absent while every warrior on the beta was looking at it. The site now decodes that cache with the same table layouts and lays its rows over the build's own, so every dataset is the build plus the hotfixes, and a talent the hotfixes touched names the cache beside the build as its source. Read that way, the warrior trees change shape. In Fury, Iron Will's node becomes Lingering Rage (five ranks, Rage decays 2 to 10 sec later), Boundless Rage's node becomes Furious Precision (three ranks, 4/7/10% off-hand hit) and moves into Improved Cleave's old place, Gore Drinker (two ranks: your next 3 melee attacks after Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish or Bloodthirst restore 0.5/1% of maximum Health) is new in row 6 with the arrow from Enrage that used to reach Flurry, Flurry is reached from Death Wish instead, which no longer leads to Bloodthirst, Improved Berserker Rage moves up to row 5, and Improved Cleave and Precision are gone. In Protection, Iron Will arrives in row 1 on a new node with five ranks, Toughness is gone, Anticipation drops to row 2 while Improved Bloodrage rises to row 1 and loses its arrow to Last Stand, Improved Revenge, Improved Disarm and Improved Shield Bash each rise a row, Vanguard changes column, Focused Rage rises to row 5 and Bastion drops to row 6. The hotfixes also rewrite the warrior's tooltips: Dual Wield Specialization now gives off-hand damage and 10–50% more Rage from off-hand attacks, with no hit chance; Booming Voice adds 5–25% cheaper Shouts to its 10–50% area; Unbridled Wrath loses its two-handed clause; Blood Craze no longer triggers from Bloodthirst; Raging Blows cuts Cleave and Whirlwind by 3 Rage instead of making Whirlwind strike with the off-hand, which Whirlwind now does on its own; Bloodthirst deals 45% of Attack Power instead of 35%; Intimidating Shout and Piercing Howl state their radius (8 and 10 yards); Improved Slam cuts Slam's cooldown by 3 sec instead of 1.5; and Berserker Rage is taught at 30. Talents stay at 467: three left and two arrived. The build's own tables carry the rest. Feral's King of the Jungle node (three ranks, row 5) now holds Shifting Power, one rank, first in row 4, with an arrow from Shredding Attacks, which moved up to row 3; Improved Shifting Power (two ranks, 4 and 8 sec off its cooldown) is new beneath it; Predatory Instincts took King of the Jungle's old place in row 5. Hot Streak became Heating Up and Soul Harvesting Soul Harvest, on the same nodes. Redoubt went from 6–30% to 4–20%, hunter Deflection 2–10% to 1–5%, Champion of the Light 33/66/100% to 20/40/60% of Intellect, Holy Shield 20% to 30%, Sniper Shot 35 to 45 yd and Disease Cleansing Totem 2 min to 5; the druid spellbook lost Tiger's Fury and gained Primal Bite from level 36. Darkspear Islands is built on 24 of its 25 tiles (7 before), with 2,462 placed objects (1,008) and 91 buildings (71), three times Warsong Gulch's built area; its objectives now read "Capture the Darkspear Islands Flag" and "Earn 2000 resources" (was a relic and 1500), and its page carries everything the client holds for it. The Honor cap rose from 15,000 to 25,000, and the Half-Pint Tavern dungeon left the client. The hotfix cache also carries 4,457 item rows the build's own item table does not have at all: Classic items the server supplies on demand, 500 of them still carrying a Classic PvP rank gate, and the one piece of Forever's own PvP sets the table was missing, so the PvP pages now list 949 rank-gated leftovers and all 360 set pieces. Older build links are read against the frozen layouts they were written in and placed by talent name, so they open as the build they meant: points in King of the Jungle land on Shifting Power and points in Boundless Rage on Furious Precision, Iron Will's follow it to Protection, and the page names any it cannot hold.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared between 1.60.1.70124 and 1.60.1.70170, and the 46 that differ read row by row; the beta client's hotfix cache (28,245 entries, 20 of its tables among the ones the site reads) decoded against the WoWDBDefs layouts for this build, each table's record size checked against its layout before any row was taken, and its 4,457 item rows checked name, quality, level and icon against the site's older item-name parser of the same cache; eleven more client tables (the Honor prices, the interface strings and nine spell and item tables) compared for the claims that needed them; the talent pipeline run against both builds, with and without the hotfixes, and diffed node by node; every spellbook rank compared text for text, with its cost, range, cast and cooldown line; every terrain tile of the six PvP maps re-read on 1.60.1.70170; the stored build codes in the D1 dumps re-read through the canon tests against the frozen layouts; and all 155 bullets of Blizzard's post checked against the tables and then against the hotfixes.

Build 1.60.1.70124

Two builds in one day, and not one table the site reads changed.

Measured: no talent or spellbook text changed against 1.60.1.70009.

How this was measured

Build 1.60.1.70058 was published on 29 September and 1.60.1.70124 nine hours later, on 30 September. All 90 tables this site reads (the trait trees and their definitions, every spell table, items, item sets and effects, maps, difficulties, encounters and areas, the quest ids, skill lines and trade-skill categories, factions, the PvP queue list and honor tables, achievements and criteria) are byte for byte the same in both as in 1.60.1.70009, so no talent moved, no tooltip changed, no item or map was added or dropped, and every build code keeps its layout. The terrain files of the six PvP maps measure the same tile for tile. Blizzard published no development notes for either build. Beyond those 90 tables, the client carries 522 more. Compared byte for byte across the three builds, 519 are identical, two whose exports the tooling cannot serve (DeclinedWord and DeclinedWordCases) have identical raw files, and one differs: ManifestInterfaceItemIcon, a one-column list of item-icon file ids, gained the id 8517112 in 1.60.1.70124, an id no file and no other table carries yet. Outside the tables, 1.60.1.70058 changed ten interface files (nine Lua and one XML, every changed line on a gamepad or cursor code path: the world map gains a crosshair coordinates row for gamepad play) and 52 compiled shaders; both builds changed the same 17 loader and exception-handler libraries, and 1.60.1.70124 added two more of them and a 15 MB Unicode data file. Nothing that changed names Hyjal Crater, Mak'gora, an arena, a rating, Battle for Gilneas, the Legacy tree or a class ability.

Every one of the 90 raw tables hash-compared across the three builds; the talent pipeline run against 1.60.1.70009 and 1.60.1.70124 and diffed node by node; every spellbook rank compared; every terrain tile of the six PvP maps re-read on 1.60.1.70124; the client's other 522 tables compared by hash between the builds (520 as exported tables, two as raw files), and 346 interface code files the client serves compared the same way, with wago.tools' own file-level diff of all three builds read as the cross-check.

Blizzard's notes against the tables: ✓ 18 agree, ✕ 1 disagree, ? 2 not in the tables

WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated September 24 (24 September 2026)

  • Improved Holy Strike removed from the Holy talent tree: the tables agree. Its trait node is gone from the Holy tree; Holy Strike's cooldown in the spellbook is 10 seconds on every rank, down from 12.
  • Bastion (row 5) and Focused Rage (row 6) swapped positions in the Protection tree: the tables disagree. In this build's trait tables Bastion still sits in row 5 and Focused Rage in row 6, at the same coordinates as in 1.60.1.69977. No warrior talent moved. If the swap exists, it is not in the client yet.
  • Elemental Fury (row 3) and Elemental Alacrity (row 6) swapped positions: the tables agree. Elemental Alacrity now opens at 10 points and Elemental Fury at 25; the prerequisite arrows follow them.
  • Mangle renamed Primal Bite, and talents referencing Mangle updated: the tables agree. Same trait node, new name; Ferocity and Berserk now read Primal Bite.
  • Primal Fury renamed Blood Frenzy with the original icon: the tables agree. The node that was Primal Fury is named Blood Frenzy; the tables match it to Classic's Primal Fury by spell, so its page says which Classic talent it carries on.
  • Holy Strike's weapon damage is now 25/29/32/36/39/43/46/50% by rank: the tables agree. Ranks 2 to 8 changed exactly so; rank 1 was already 25%.
  • Holy Power now also raises Holy Strike's critical strike chance by 15%: the tables agree. All five ranks now name Holy Shock and Holy Strike.
  • Vengeance activates on non-periodic critical strikes and stacks to 3: the tables agree. All three ranks read "non-periodic" and "up to 3 times".
  • Two-Handed Weapon Specialization reduced to 2/4/6%: the tables agree. Which makes it read exactly as it does in Classic Era, so it is no longer marked as changed.
  • Sacred Arbiter 20%; Twist of Light also cuts Seal Mana cost by 20%: the tables agree. Both tooltips changed as stated.
  • Righteous Fury's Holy threat bonus lowered to 60%: the tables agree. 90% to 60% in the spellbook.
  • Wake of Fire 30 seconds, Hot Streak 20 seconds: the tables agree. Both durations changed in the tooltips.
  • Strider Kick now also grants 30% movement speed for 3 seconds: the tables agree. The tooltip gained the clause.
  • Bloodthrill 4/8/12/16/20%, main-hand attacks only; Slam's cooldown 18 seconds; Improved Slam reduces it by 1.5/3 seconds: the tables agree. All three read as stated.
  • Rage of the Far Seer no longer increases spell casting speed: the tables agree. The tooltip now says attack speed only.
  • Wrath base damage up about 50%; Lightning Bolt ranks 3 and 4 and Lava Burst ranks 1 and 2 up: the tables agree. Wrath rank 8 went from 62–69 to 92–102, every rank rose; Lightning Bolt rank 3 35–41 to 44–52, rank 4 49–57 to 55–63; Lava Burst rank 1 (the talent) 105–135 to 150–193 and rank 2 164–212 to 179–231.
  • Eureka! changed on every class to a 10% discount: the tables agree. The gnome racial's tooltip went from a 20% Energy discount to 10%; the tables show one racial spell for all classes, so the per-class Mana and Rage wording is the server's.
  • Windfury Totem and Flametongue Totem buffs display under those names: the tables agree. The buff spells were renamed in SpellName; Windfury Totem's tooltip now also states its 30-yard reach.
  • Wizard Oil values reverted to Classic Era (8, 16, 24 spell power): the tables agree. The oils' item effects point at spells whose values now read 8, 16 and 24; Brilliant Wizard Oil is unchanged.
  • Furious Howl attack power bonus reduced 40%; Tame Beast, Sonic Blast, Cultivation, Touch of the Grave, Feign Death and Consecration fixes: not in the tables. Pet spells, taming rules and the fixes are server-side or outside the class skill lines these tables list; nothing here can confirm or deny them.
  • Crusade: not in the tables. Not in the notes at all, but the Retribution talent Crusade is gone from this build's trait tables.
How this was measured

42 of the 90 tables changed. In the trait tables the talent count went from 469 to 467: Improved Holy Strike (Holy, first row) and Crusade (Retribution, 15 points) are no longer in the trees, both of them talents Forever had added rather than Classic ones. Two druid nodes carry new names, Mangle as Primal Bite and Primal Fury as Blood Frenzy, and every talent that named Mangle (Ferocity, Berserk) now names Primal Bite. In the shaman Elemental tree, Elemental Alacrity moved from 25 points to 10 and Elemental Fury from 10 to 25, and the arrows moved with them. Seventeen talents were retuned or reworded: Bloodthrill, Improved Slam, Holy Power, Light's Vigil, Sacred Arbiter, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization, Vengeance, Twist of Light, Strider Kick, Devouring Contagion, Lava Burst, Rage of the Farseer, Wake of Fire, Hot Streak, Ferocity, Primal Bite and Berserk. In the spellbooks, Wrath's damage rose on all eight ranks, Holy Strike's weapon damage rose on ranks 2 to 8 and its cooldown fell from 12 to 10 seconds, Slam's cooldown rose from 15 to 18 seconds, Righteous Fury's threat bonus fell from 90% to 60%, Lightning Bolt ranks 3 and 4 and Lava Burst rank 2 gained damage, and Dark Sacrifice and Life Tap now state their Mana in terms of Spirit. Because talents moved, every build link written before this build is read against the frozen 1.60.1.69977 layout and placed by talent name, so it opens as the build it meant; a link whose only points sat in Improved Holy Strike or Crusade now opens empty. Beyond talents and spellbooks: the achievement tables grew by about 7,000 rows (Achievement 233 to 433, Criteria 1,353 to 3,276, CriteriaTree 1,951 to 6,603), 189 of the 200 new achievements being zero-point counters such as total gold acquired or duels lost, with only twelve worth points (ten 5-point dungeon and raid boss trackers, two 10-point cooking and fishing ones); a whole prototype encounter left the tables (about 90 spells, an Adaptive gear system of eight named armour sets, a slime boss kit and a Contribute Reagent mechanic, with its dev-only map, Development Land); Deadmines gained an encounter row for Miner Johnson; five quest ids, 66 newly named quest items, four zone item sets and a Spawn of Grubthor companion arrived; the Nightclaw Druids faction went from an empty stub to a wired reputation track; the Gnome racial Eureka! now discounts Energy by 10% instead of 20%; and, with no note anywhere, 1,053 spell effects had their bonus coefficient zeroed and some 270 items had their sheathe type reclassified. For the PvP maps: the map and queue tables did not change, every terrain tile of all six maps measures exactly as it did in 1.60.1.69893, and nothing in the build names Hyjal Crater, Mak'gora Arena or Battle for Gilneas: no achievement, criterion, title or currency. Two things did move: the four battlegrounds' world-map rows were re-typed from 3 to 6, a type no earlier build and no Classic Era row carries, and re-parented from the world map onto the zone each sits in (Hillsbrad Foothills, the Barrens, Arathi Highlands, Kalimdor), while Hyjal Crater and Battle for Gilneas still have no world-map row at all; and Darkspear Islands gained five zero-point statistics rows of its own (battles, victories, honorable kills, killing blows, deaths) pointed at its map the way the retail scaffold's rows point at Alterac Valley, Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin. The arena wording in that scaffold names retail's arenas and the 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 brackets of Wrath, and no achievement row carries it.

Every raw table hash-compared between the builds; the talent pipeline run against both and diffed node by node across all 469 talents; every spellbook rank compared text for text and cooldown for cooldown; 9,230 stored build codes re-read against the frozen layout, with the four that spend nothing all naming only Improved Holy Strike.

Build 1.60.1.69977

Nothing the site reads changed.

How this was measured

88 of the 90 tables the two builds share are byte-identical, including every talent, spell, profession, reputation, instance and PvP table. The two that differ change nothing shown here: Map swapped a column this site has never read (RaidOffset out, WindSettingsID in, a change that actually arrived in 1.60.1.69913, a build published in between and never adopted), and PlayerCondition had two columns zeroed across all 1,818 rows, both of which held the same value in every row beforehand. All 469 talents are unchanged (none added, none removed, none retuned) and so are the 449 spellbook abilities. Every saved build link opens exactly as it did.

Checked twice and independently: every raw table hash-compared between the builds, and the talent pipeline re-run against both builds and diffed field by field across all 469 talents.

Build 1.60.1.69893

The first build the trees were read from.

How this was measured

Talents and spellbooks stopped coming from BlizzCon footage and started coming from the client's own trait tables. The BlizzCon transcription is kept frozen as the baseline the changes on this page are measured against.
