WoW Forever talent changes from Classic
Classic Era had 432 class talents. Forever keeps 356 of them — 74 word for word, 282 with a different tooltip, name or rank count (45 of those move only their numbers; 28 carry a new name) — leaves 76 out of the trees (8 of them taught by trainers instead) and adds 113 new ones: 469 talents in all. Read from Forever client build 1.60.1.69977 and compared rank for rank with Classic Era 1.15.9.69722; nothing here comes from patch notes.

Common questions
- How many talents did WoW Forever change from Classic?
- Classic Era had 432 class talents. Forever keeps 356 of them — 74 reading exactly as before and 282 with a different tooltip, name or rank count — leaves 76 out of the trees and adds 113 new ones, for 469 talents across the nine classes.
- Which Classic talents were removed in WoW Forever?
- 76 Classic Era talents are not in any Forever tree; each class's list is on this page. 8 of them are taught by trainers in Forever instead, so the ability survives even though the talent does not.
- Which class changed the most in WoW Forever?
- Warlock: 46 of its 50 Classic talents were changed or dropped, and 18 new ones were added.
- Which class kept the most of its Classic talents?
- Mage: every one of its 49 Classic talents is still in the Forever trees, 15 of them word for word.
- Are the WoW Forever talent changes final?
- No. These are the beta trees, read from Forever client build 1.60.1.69977; beta runs 17 September to 21 October 2026 and Blizzard can still retune them. The dataset is rebuilt from each client build, and whatever moves between builds is listed on the beta changes page.
How this is measured
A Forever talent is the same talent as a Classic Era one when it shares a spell id with it or, failing that, its name within the same class's Classic trees. A talent that shares neither is new; a Classic talent nothing claims is not in the Forever trees. Tooltips are compared rank for rank and can only read one of four ways: identical, differing only in capitalisation or punctuation, the same sentence with different numbers, or rewritten. "Taught by trainers instead" means the Forever spellbook teaches a spell of that name to the class; the tables say nothing about whether a talent's effect was folded into something else, so this page does not either.
